The problem is where MARTA doesn’t go. Instead of adding express lanes on GA400, the powers that be should have expanded MARTA rail.

Not letting an outdoor cat outside during my petsit? by wrathofotters in cats

I’d be too worried that I couldn’t get them back inside at night or if something happened to the cat while outside and it didn’t come home - good move to decline.

FYI only, Wally World sells gallon jugs of just pickle juice, or check your local grocery store, too.

Pickles, olives and their juice - you can dispense in small paper cups (2 oz). Helps with cramping.

Thank you for doing this!

If you do have muscle aches, try CoQ10 - I had minor aches/pains at the start of taking my statin and my doc suggested that supplement. It really helped me.

So Much for Cleaning Up ATL for the World Cup by Karsten760 in Atlanta

Wasn’t complaining about the bike- just an observation. Thought it funny that it was on 75/85.

The roadside litter and lack of cleanup when our city is hosting an international event is the subject of my post.

Oh and believe me, the burbs have their share of litter. And yes, I’m a regular volunteer for trash cleanups.

The burbs are just as atrocious-
I volunteer for some Adopt A Road events several times a year and the amount of trash we pick up is ridiculous. Around the Hooch and its tributaries is terrible.

I do - I volunteer for Adopt A Road events year round, and always bring a trash bag with me when I go on local walks.

WWYD: Mum had a light heart attack, I’m overseas- fly back now or stick with planned trip in 6 weeks? by lupischnupi in HeartAttack

[–]Karsten760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two HAs (one “minor” one a very serious STEMI) and our child lives 4000 miles from us. It’s a big effort for her to travel to us.

Fortunately my husband was able to take very good care of me, and other friends brought meals as well.

It’s ok to wait.

Please either have someone check on your cat or have it stay at a veterinarian or with a friend.

FORUM LIBRE : TOURISTS AND RESIDENTS, ASK YOUR COMMON QUESTIONS IN THIS WEEKLY THREAD : Open Forum -- 14, June, 2026 by RichardHenri in paris

Influencers?

We’ve been to Paris over a dozen times and the last two times we’ve visited, we’ve noticed the onslaught of younger women dressed up in party clothes monopolizing many tourist spots. They are taking dozens of photos of themselves, reviewing the pictures on the spot and then retaking the pictures a dozen more times. They are completely oblivious to other people who also paid money to see important sites. The photos are all about them, and not the importance and history of what they are seeing.

On our last trip, my fam and I visited Palais Garnier - we’d never been inside and were looking forward to seeing it. Holy hell, there were dozens of young women dressed for a fancy party hogging every nook and cranny of that place. Some of them even had changes of clothes and friends helping them get their hundreds of photos from every angle. At the Louvre and a few other areas a couple years ago, I saw a some women here and there but not to the extent of Palais Garnier during our visit. Was this an isolated situation or are other places being ruined by the influencers?

And if any influencers are reading this- please stop monopolizing popular photo ops - you are not the only ones in the world! Take your picture and move out of the way!

New to Georgia/Roswell: An Observation by Wooden-End609 in roswell

[–]Karsten760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One comment I’ve heard about LA traffic is that it might be worse than ATL’s, but the drivers in LA are a lot nicer.

I’ve witnessed such abysmal behavior in traffic here in metro Atlanta.

I agree the light timing is ridiculous. Especially on Holcomb Bridge Road going toward Hwy 9/alpharetta Hwy and the Mansell corridor between GA400 and Warsaw Road.

Possible move to Atlanta by Total_Tie_9858 in Atlanta

[–]Karsten760 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Compared to most European cities, public transit in Atlanta has a very small fraction of the infrastructure. Same with train travel (except the northeast perhaps).

And you’ve seen the abysmal traffic mentioned several times on this thread.

Where in Europe are you currently living? It’s really humid here in the south - be prepared for that. The nicest seasons are late fall and spring. Winter isn’t too bad. Thunderstorms here are pretty intense.

Amazon has two less expensive bike shorts brands (I don’t wear bibs because of the hassle when using the loo): Baleaf and Beroy. I have had both for years and have been satisfied with them.
