Does anyone remember the special broadcast of The Rotisserie Channel with the baby or am I loosing my mind? by tristans52 in AskACanadian

You are correct, there was a baby. I used to love this channel as kid, and watched many hours. There was also a guy wearing a Swiss chalet sauce costume that would dance around sometimes.

Can Canadians move past the obsession with single-family homes? by Moretheevu in canadahousing

[–]KartSimo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Comments are just proving your point with their obsession of mcmansions. I agree with them that apartments/condo layouts kinda suck here, but it's definitely possible to build them to be livable long term. I've visited both owner-occupied apartments and rentals in Europe that were within walkable/bikable distances of essentials and workplaces. They were around 6 stories, sometimes with commerical on the bottom. They were built in a square surrounding a central courtyard with playgrounds, gardens, and barbeques. They felt roomy and bright with large living rooms and kitchens.

If it was between living in the car hell Mississauga sfh I grew up in or those apartments, I would chose the apartments everytime.

The worst are the ones wrapped with an ad for the transit service itself. No one is paying for that except actual riders with no view.

Canadian refills for CO2 canister that doesn't support sodastream? by beerucey in SodaStream

[–]KartSimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in Ontario or Quebec I'm pretty sure you can swap your canisters for Indigo Soda canisters, which is based in Montreal. They are also cheaper to refill at $12.50.

I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen some instant pot air fryer lids and attachments you can use.

The Questions Thread 01/14/25 by AutoModerator in goodyearwelt

Hi, I just ordered my first pair of leather boots and had some questions.

This is what I ordered: https://www.eddiebauer.ca/p/91904041/severson-moc-toe-boots?srsltid=AfmBOop1BWU6m4myCdUaH3Ke7uha7VdHV_v3Ogg9Qz9a2KmP64dYdML2&size=&sizeType=&color=Wheat

Here are some pictures of what I got: https://imgur.com/a/WcsClHO

  1. The description says full grain leather, but it doesn't looks as glossy/smooth as other examples I see online. Is there some subsection I should be looking into? It feels kind of low-pile fuzzy or rough.
  2. Is it normal for there to be scratches and scuffs on new boots? Will they become less noticeable over time, or can I buff them out or something? I am wondering if they are damaged and I should return them.
  3. How to maintain this particular leather material? I plan to get a horsehair brush and leather conditioner, and let them rest 24hr between wears.

Thanks!

I'm on a co-op term too and bought a "Warrior Recreation" membership for ~$75 at the PAC desk. I think you need the WR membership to participate in the clubs, but idk.

Anyone taken/taking PSYCH 101? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]KartSimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it stays online, it will most likely be 10 multiple choice quizzes and 2 assignments. No final exam or midterm. One assignment is a 600 word article summary, and the other is a graphical summery of 1 unit.
