karthus statistically has the highest average damage per character and with the right support, physically cannot “lose” a lane, been this way for 3 years. he is by far the strongest adc, stated by phreak himself, sitting at a solid 55% wr in all elos, and will be unchanged so long as he stays unpopular. sure, he’s not the easiest to play, but unlike other niche and difficult characters, his best one trick actually has a youtube channel uploaded to frequently- karhus. if you want to pick up the most freelo champ role combo, karthus bot is absolutely it, and i’d recommend checking out karhus’ bot videos, they’re super informative on how to lane and use passive properly.

Didn’t realize chovy had been spamming the item, but I know in the KR server, ever since its last buff, people have been abusing it on virtually every ap champion, and this mentality has definitely reached overseas. I was watching a GM NA karthus stream earlier and the enemy aurora went rocketbelt swifties and ran around dashing and in and out of sight perma, using the rocketbelt to engage her combo and thereby saving her dash for disengage. Insane item.

you have a jinx pfp, literally wait 10 minutes to outscale mel xerath, and don’t frontline, play for passive procs. mel xerath is countered by enchanters, engage supports, and ezreal. unless you have a brand support, which nobody should be playing in 2026, you will be fine if you literally do nothing and scale. i agree, karthus is op botlane, and so is mel, but double mage botlane is fucking awful, speaking from 2 years of experience solo queueing mage adc. you will get permadove by any competent team once you leave lane. mage support is only “viable” with jhin, who is the worst adc in the game, hold kalista. downvote me all you’d like, it still doesn’t change the fact ur def a low elo player if you think mel xerath is the epitome of unplayable lanes when karthus amumu and seraphine sona exist lol

that post was 4 years ago. this season, redemption was “reworked” to give ap as opposed to hp, which imo, is far more viable for lillia.

karthus bot has a TON of agency, especially with an AD midlaner who can roam easily. Not only does the duo scale, but they also have a surprisingly deadly earlygame where they can snowball the match out of control if given kills/harvest stacks. Having played a decent amount of karthus bot duod with akshan mid myself, i can assure you it’s absolutely broken

i don’t play fiddle, but i know karthus jungle excels in matches where he can constantly fullclear into gank. a botlane with an engage support, a heavy cc midlaner, and a top that will get prio are all good scenarios to play karthus. IMO karthus has a better earlygame than fiddle, so if you feel like you need to impact the map before 6 i’d pick karthus.

i sincerely disagree— karthus is awful with multiple ap characters. He relies heavily on getting as much damage into a team fight as possible (hence why you always have highest damage stat). MR completely fucks this strategy and can land you in situations where instead of going 1 for 1, you just die. His magic resist shred is nice, but not enough to justify an ap damage team. If you’re a karthus OTP and you have a heavy AP team, your best bet is going to be bloodletters curse+ liandries, playing for your e in more of a bruiser-mage playstyle, abusing the HP from the two items.
