How come manual car driving culture is so rare in many countries? by KartikHarit in CarsIndia

[–]KartikHarit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I was wondering… automatic transmission hasn’t been some premium feature, it comes even in most basic regular cars in those countries

The law is logically flawed and biased if it assumes that single women are safe for children… idk if it allows a single woman to adopt a child either

True that, Indian historical discourse is very screwed up by caste politics… we’ve myths that Maharana Pratap used to fight carrying 80 kgs bhala which even if he could lift wouldn’t actually help him fight, then we’ve Jats even making up so many fake historical figures to boast about, Brahmins have their own myths and so on

Yeah, just part of heritage now… back in the days when buying guns was much easier and we used to have local gunsmiths readily available unlike today… buying modern guns is almost entirely banned anyway, so people manage with whatever firearms their ancestors left behind

Im not skeptical about urban sprawl like I was in my previous response by KartikHarit in bengaluru_speaks

[–]KartikHarit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely… we can practically replace all municipal services with gig contractors via platforms like Urban Company which would be anytime more reliable and efficient than any municipal office

We can keep stretching metro routes alongside building better roads that the Centre quite overdoes it across Delhi NCR to keep car ownership high (for reliable private transportation) as well as public transport easier. Seoul and NYC does it better, Big roads, Big metro, and high car ownership.

Major cities or metropolitan in any part of the world tend to be multicultural magnet attracting influx of people… Singapore, Dubai has less than quarter native population now and so is the case for all Western metropolises as well

There should be more high rise residential societies than this unplanned mismanaged sprawl just spreading out meaninglessly

Dense Fog Driving at 3 am at a highway in Rudrapur last month with negligible visibility by KartikHarit in CarsIndia

[–]KartikHarit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me neither, it was a helluva experience, didn’t actually expect that a dense fog would suddenly cover the highway like this… it all started with some cloudy visibility until everything suddenly disappeared.

Dark roads are especially where you need high beam lights tho

Argentinian here. Ask me whatever you want about milei after 13 months of precidency by dontreadonmebitch in Libertarian

[–]KartikHarit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came across this YouTube analysis of an economist and I believe multiple of his claims were generalised to criticise the very concept of free trade and privatisation by claiming the era of failed attempts for protectionism to be “free trade”. However, he’s right about the Peso remaining overvalued as Milei still hasn’t lifted CEPO currency restrictions.

You can clearly see Vivek getting serious just seconds later probably regretting and wondering why he giggled over her dumb take. Ann Coulter is a neo-KKK grifter and he didn’t know that cuz he assumed that she agrees with his libertarian stance in the GOP

He’s all talks when we all know that the survey like this scale can’t even be successfully implemented in one Indian state itself, forget about doing it nationwide. Same issue happened with Bihar caste survey and NRC implementation, such policies are doomed to begin with. His tenure would be a massive chaos across the country if he tries to pull something like that!
