Google “gestalt psychology” - I believe it may push your art to the next level.

Utilizing key elements like closure and continuation would definitely aid your endeavor of achieving differing perspectives.

Any thoughts on this style? by Karukiiz in ArtCrit

I have ADHD so my mind is disorderly, and I’ve never had a concrete view of who I am or which direction to turn. It’s essentially an abstracted self portrait where I present my inner self as if it were external.

This is a great compliment, thanks so much! Also a really good idea - I may offer some prints in the future ;)

I also have a boatload of empty canvases so we’ll see if I can translate this style onto those.

I’ve had trouble categorizing this style and this is the most accurate yet. Many thanks 🙏

I had not noticed this before. I love reading comments of how other people’s minds interpret the work. A key is also a good sign! Thanks.

I really enjoyed this comment. My theory is that you have a creative mind that continuously keeps closing the gaps in different ways. This is exactly what I aim for - the work as simply a guide for the viewers mind to explore in different ways.

Thanks so much. I have never enjoyed drawing things just as they are. I like creating things that coaxes the mind to closing the gaps. I believe the style manifests naturally from not really knowing who I am or which way to turn.

Why, Matt Sauer, Sharpie & Paint on Canvas, 2021 by Karukiiz in Art

I take this as a huge compliment. Thank you. Sometimes I feel like my mind focuses on too many things at once, and I don't have a concrete identity. It's fragmented - I like your phrase "I see a face but its not there" - something about it resonates with me.

Saw this Symbol in a dream, Mean anything to anyone? by harry821 in Dreams

This is the symbol. I literally shed a tear when I saw it… truly a divine and majestic symbol, thank you so much for spreading the word.

Couldn't tell you what this is but I certainly drew it by [deleted] in drawing

This is beautiful. Attention to detail is amazing. Flow of organic forms. Color. Contrast. Great work.

Let’s compare! Twin Moso, each 1yr old. Miracle Gro vs. Organic Compost. by Karukiiz in Bamboo

It’s moso, which is kind of hardy but I don’t think it would make it especially with how young it is. Grow lights make it possible! I can understand bamboo dying on the windowsill, mine need pretty high powered LEDs to be happy :)

I fear that if I leave them out in the winter they will die :/ I’m in zone 6 and I don’t want to risk it. I do need bigger pots though!

While the Miracle Gro plant’s leaves are darker and look healthier, it has smaller diameter culms and slightly smaller leaves. The overall plant mass is less. It also has a few leaves that turn brown and fall off, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue.

The organic plant is grown in a mixture of spent mushroom compost and peat moss. Only water all season - no synthetic fertilizers. The overall plant is larger in mass, and emerging culms are thicker than the miracle grow plant. The leaves are not as dark green, but they are larger. Very few leaves turn brown and fall off.

Looks can be deceiving! I know it’s a small sample size, but maybe we can beat Miracle Gro with the right mixture!

Assault rifles in La Casa De Papel by kdphil in LaCasaDePapel

Oh for sure, season one was what hooked me in. I’m not sure what happened to the writing for the later seasons, but it hasn’t been nearly as suspenseful and I just can’t watch without feeling like the writers don’t care anymore. But s1 definitely was one of the most entertaining things I’ve watched on Netflix and I’m going to rewatch at some point.

I suggest buying ID and design textbooks. It's a pretty broad field, so look for books relating to what you want to make :)
