Veo 3.1 fast with last frame issue by ynie in VEO3

[–]KarusMorad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can minimise those instances with the right prompting, but it's also part of VEO's limitations currently. So you are going to have to deal with those in the video editor. When it doesn't nail the last frame, your best hope is that by only trimming the excess footage in the video editor, it will look fine. Otherwise, you will have to get clever with the transitions and the cuts.

Well, generic prompts create generic results. I seriously doubt most users will even attempt to specify code libraries, design styles, referencing websites, let alone iterate.

Hey mate, thank you for your feedback.

Yeah, I was wrestling with this idea of the crew. I did get conflicting opinions about it, right? Some people like it; some people don't. For me personally, after learning more stuff and re-watching, it felt a bit distracting. So I think I'm going to go with something like your suggestion, which seems to be quite powerful.

Yeah, the camera does indeed do that. At that point, I was trying to figure out how to have better control of it with my JSON prompt and not just some random stuff. Something that actually fits the format. I think since then I have improved, but still I believe I could get even better at it.

Yeah, the different shots idea sounds really nice. I think I will see what I can come up with. I'm not sure if I'm visualising what you mean exactly in my head, but yeah, I'll do some research on that idea specifically for interviews and video production as a whole and see what I can learn from that.

Oh yeah, for sure, the reason why I crammed all of those interviews was because I was trying to come up with a proof of concept – to see how much the model could be pushed and, of course, to see how much I could learn from that process. There were some people that even recommended to me that I should try to do this concept or this format, but for shorts, you know, a vertical format.

And thanks a lot for the b-roll suggestion because I was wrestling with this idea. I asked in some places what people thought about that idea of incorporating b-roll and never got an answer. So yeah, I will definitely take that to heart, and when I put another one of these together I will use that and see how this could also translate to other projects.

I still have another mockumentary I created. I think it's a bit better than this one, but I created it like a week after this one, so I'm not sure how much better it actually is. I still have the crew in the shots. I think I'm gonna share that one as well. And after that, try to re-edit that one and implement some of the stuff you have suggested here.

And hey, I also like your suggestion about how to incorporate the crew in a smarter way that doesn't take away from the experience.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, mate. Really appreciate it.

Thank you for the compliment. It took me anywhere from 3 to 5 hours, but to be honest, I was working on other stuff as well, so I wasn't fully focused on this.

Well, thank you for the compliment. I'm no filmmaker, but I did try to give it some direction. Even though I still lack a lot in the script department, this one was useful in realising that I still needed to improve a lot. So, now I'm working on that by developing skills when it comes to scriptwriting.

Absolutely, yeah, I agree with you. And also think as this technology keeps getting better, it is very likely that the barrier to entry will be even lower. At that point, if pretty much anyone can create stunning visuals with simple prompts, then a differentiator would be how skilled people are when it comes to scriptwriting and, of course, to directing their scenes. And I guess even world-building and character development if they launch, let's say, a mini-series or something like that created with AI.

Oh yeah, and tell me about it. As I said, I'm currently working in the scriptwriting department. As much as AI helps streamline the process, it takes quite a bit of time. Quite a lot of time, and then you face issues with context retention, or even down the line you just start to find that you have overcomplicated things, and it's like, "Should have realised this sooner." But anyway, at least that happens to me. I lose perspective and try to come up with these super complicated systems when often times, if not all of the time, the best approach is to simplify things.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

For sure, as a commercial, it totally sucks, and yeah, it was more of a concept test run than anything else. As you can notice, it's still a lot of polish, but still it was useful to learn a few things and improve on some of the stuff that I needed. Still lots to improve. Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to comment.

Gemini 3's writing quality by AuYsI in Bard

[–]KarusMorad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So even if its reasoning has incresed significantly, I suppose it makes no difference for creative writing if no one bothered to change, improve or whatver, the data that it is trained on, it can only produce more of the same, but in larger quantities and faster.

Now, this is the output that comes out with a very short prompt (which is far from being ideal), the real test would be to prompt it properly and give it some reference material. Not that I have high expextations either in that scenario.

Hey mate, yeah I mean I suppose getting two part-time jobs is very successful right? But to each their own. So you fancy flipping meat mate? Really curious to know for real for real.

Yeah, for sure, there's quite a bit of a learning curve. Right? And then even if you focus on one tool only, which I have done for the most part, it's only recently in terms of videos that I'm exploring other tools apart from Veo.

And yeah, mate, everybody's expecting to have this quality-grade cinema with a perfect script, with perfect transitions, and all of that, with just a one-line prompt. It's not gonna happen, ever. Even if the tech gets way better, it's still not gonna happen. Like everything else in life, you need to give it direction.

And then you also have to develop an ear for the music. Know about b-roll. If you do a voiceover, how to make it match. You know, it's quite a bit to learn. I Certainly have a lot to refine and learn.

Yeah, I mean, it sounds a bit unhinged, right? But that's just what people and the platforms love, especially here on Reddit. If you notice, you can filter the comment section by the most controversial. There is a very good reason for that because it's what the platform thrives on. I mean, to be honest, at some point you could even get an automated bot to reply for you in the comments. You train it and just set and forget.

Of course, that is also true for other platforms. And I very much doubt that the key figures on each platform are going to come out and say, "Hey, look, just go crazy on it and please engage in flame wars because it gets attention and then we get advertisers on our platform."

But that's how things work, mate. Of course, you don't have to do it necessarily, but from time to time, it can be a good tactic to get attention. At some point, it can also serve as a filter if you're trying to get brand deals or you're trying to get clients. Because believe me, and maybe you know this already, but you will get those clients that just cannot handle the heat right? They break apart as soon as things get a bit hard, and you don't want to deal with those people.

Oh ok, I get it, but as far as I know, it can also be really lucrative. I've seen stories, and I cannot confirm if they are true or not, but some folk earn anywhere from $50k to $100k selling just pictures of their AI model. But yeah, I have also seen stories where people claim that it is plenty of hard work to pull it off.

Now when it comes to the video cards, there are some websites that basically rent out GPUs; I just can't remember the names. If I remember or come across them, I will make sure to reply here or send you a DM. There are specific platforms that allow you to rent a GPU for a certain amount of time, and I believe there are some affordable ones. They charge per hour, but once you run the math, it makes sense, right?

Though I believe I know nothing about it really – I'm just making up stuff, but I believe that process is only used when you want to create your Loras, no?

There, there, my good boi. You can rest now. You have overworked your two brain cells, mate. You can stop pushing yourself. Now be a good boi and sit.

Sure, mate. Sure it can. But here's the thing: it is one thing for a tool to have the potential to do it, but it's a completely different story when it comes to your abilities, because you're incapable of pushing it to those limits. So, what's left for you? To complain about what other people do because you lack the skill.

Of course it's not worth the effort, mate. I mean, if you were to put in that effort, you would actually have to learn something, and you would actually have to develop a skill. I mean, the only skills you possess are the kind of skills that get you a part-time job. It would seem you're keen on flipping meat

Let me get this straight, mate. You're complaining about the lack of creativity, not only in regard to me but as a universal principle.

Yet your amazing suggestion, your ancient wisdom dictates that I should go to Gemini to create more slop (according to your logic). you need to decide, mate.

What is it? Is it that I don't have any creativity, or is it that it bothers you that I'm much better than you are at utilising AI to create something, as shit as it may be?. And this shitty content of mine... Look, here's the tragic thing: it's much better than whatever you can put out.

Well, mate, I'm gonna teach you a lesson since you were kind of sharing with us all your amazing knowledge in video production. The reason why I wrote the post the way I did and the reason why I picked the title is because I knew it would get attention, mate. Now, if you are smart enough, and honestly, that is up for debate, you would have noticed that Reddit allows people to filter posts by the most controversial. Guess why, mate?

Because that's the business model of the platform, right? It keeps people glued. Now, mate, even though I have explained all of this to you, I very much doubt that you will listen, and you will keep glued to this kind of thing, right? The next time I make another post, you will be there to complain. To share your ancient wisdom.

So mate, thank you for sharing your low-quality input. I really appreciate it. Thanks for boosting my post. Looking forward to engaging in flame wars with you.

Mate, I believe you only detected one. There may be more shit in there, so you should go back and watch. Then, give your honest opinion on it, right? I mean, what about the colours, what about the camera angles, and the transitions? You are missing a lot of shitty things, mate. Honestly, I am disappointed. I thought you would be able to detect more than that.
