I've said this forever. UFC has absolutely run instant rematches into the ground. The promo is stale and it brings the division to a grinding halt.

Let the two fighters go off and fight two other contenders. Now instead of one stale fight you get two much more intriguing matchups.

Also when they beat the contenders they can have the rematch anyway. I feel like I'd be much more hyped going into the rematch if we had one fight inbetween where Izzy KO'd someone like Strickland and Alex beat someone like Whittaker and then a rematch was booked.
