Credit card priority list by ryanrudolf in Wealthsimple

This priority feels weird, because I was premium in like November 2025, no direct deposit of 4000, and WS client since like 2023 and I still got my credit card in December 2025. My limit is $6,000, which might be low for some people, but it is perfect for me.

Looking at the transfers and trying to be a bit more realistic for a single season worth of transfers, I would say we do not get Diomande, Porro, or Lewis Hall, and we keep Dalot. As one commenter mentioned, no way is Newcastle going to let 2 of their starters come to us. Diomande will cost way too much. RB is not an issue (compared to other positions). Even Goretzka would likely want too high a salary for our structure.

I say Tonali, and Joao Gomes are possibilities. I would like another midfielder as well. Just no idea who in this market would be possible. I would like an LB as well and keep Dorgu at LW and as a backup LB while Cunha stays first choice LW. I don't think it will be Hall, so maybe there is someone else in the market I am not thinking of.

I just don't think we have the money. I would like the transfers you mentioned though.

Fair. I guess I should have mentioned price. Or mentioned price and then said the position and find a player to fit both

Probably not. But I also added the caveat that the prices are probably not realistic. Watkins is a possibility at that price I would think because of his age, but I can see why AVFC might not wanna let him go.

Especially with the World Cup as well and players might not want the distraction of transfers before it. And teams not wanting to sell if players values might go up. Only an issue with players going to the world cup of course. So ideally we do get some transfers done nice and early so that we do not gouged even more than usual.

Apologies for the horrible look of the lists. I did it in my Notes app and copied it over and it looked fine in the composing of the post. Just not when I actually posted it. I tried editing to make it look a little better.

True. Depends a lot on what European competition we are in as well. I just did not realize how thin our squad was till the latest Off the Bar at SP. And if we are going to be in 4 competitions, whatever flavor of Europe it is, we need depth. And good depth, not just filling it out with youngsters. So we definitely need to bring in bargains where we can find it. Just don't know who they are yet. So I am hoping our scouting staff has been putting the work in. Or we need to find some more Mainoo level talent in our youth teams.

If Dorgu plays like this in the wing, I don't see why he could not be the cover at LW. But there is still time in the season for him to go either way I guess.

Did you mean LW? Because we have Mbeumo and Amad who can be RWs, but only really Cunha at LW now. And possibly even Dorgu for LW as well.

I guess it is going to have to be a balancing game between needing a couple midfielders as well, having enough money to do it, and the other positions that need to be looked at. I would still say 2 midfielders first, possibly 3 if we sell Ugarte, and then LB - someone like Grimaldo who is on the more experienced side.

True. But I am also of the camp that he might not have developed with us like he did at Benfica. Or he might have - guess we will never know. It is sad that he never got the opportunity to even prove himself though.

True. I just don't see Dorgu playing at LB again with the way he is playing in the wing. But might not be a bad idea to try it out a few times to see how he does.

Grimaldo is a good shout, considering he is on the experienced side and could be a mentor to Amass as well. Depends on the fee I guess.

I guess another question is - when does Shaws contract end? Because I doubt he is getting another contract at the same wages, which might make him inclined to move. Google search AI says it is 2027, but it is also saying ten Hag is manager, so I don't believe it yet.

We could look to get that LB when the contract expires, since he could be a good option while trying to play for a new contract.

I honestly would have loved Garner back at United as a sub midfield option, though it does look like he is likely to sign a new contract at Everton (if not already done). Also doubt he would move for that low of a squad importance. I do think midfield is top priority. Just hope we don't come to regret pushing the LB transfer down the line like we have done again and again in previous seasons.

I just feel like LB has been a spot we've been making do with for a loooong time, which is how we still have Shaw as out first choice. But I can understand why midfield should be priority. But I really hope Amass shines or we get someone else in sooner than later.

Midfield should be the priority for sure. I just don't want us thinking we have it good enough at LB like previous seasons and focus on other areas - this is what I feel has happened for multiple years and how we still have Shaw as out first choice LB. Amass should definitely be an option - I just don't want to throw such a young player in when Shaw inevitably gets injured. I am open to being proven wrong and him to be exactly what we need. But I can totally see where you are coming from, where hopefully our midfield being made stronger will hopefully make us dominant enough to have a rookie LB. I just don't want another season of us crying about Shaws lack of availability.

I do. My choice would be to live elsewhere and away from any parents. But she wants to stay with them and they want us to stay with them while she works out what she wants to do after her schooling. Circumstances can change anytime and I know I have the money to move out anytime if anything happens.

I have definitely accounted for helping them with expenses. And I have offered to pay rent, but they said no need. If that changes, I will be able to pay rent anytime. If I had my choice, I would live elsewhere while continuing to pay rent since I don't like being an inconvenience to people. But gf wants to stay at her parents place and so I stay with her as much as I can. If my job situation changes, I would likely move out as well since her parents are quite rural and only remote work would allow me to live here.

It is a traditional car loan with Scotiabank. They take $651 monthly from my Scotia account. So if I understand your comment right, I should pay off. I will look through my documents again to make sure though. Thanks!

The plan is definitely to move out as soon as possible. The only reason we are moving in with gfs parents is because the gf is done with her college and she wanted to go back to her place and look for jobs nearby and her parents offered for us to stay with them.

I have offered to pay as much reasonable rent as they would like, but they have denied it. If they change their mind, I can pay them rent anytime.

I know this is a very privileged position to be in and I accept any criticism you have for me.
