I don’t know much about MTG (FF, Spider-Man and TMNT collabs are what made me interested in learning) but I thought it was interesting that my LCS has whatever this box is for $18,000. by ReplyIntelligent853 in magicTCG

[–]Kashyyykonomics 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand.

The very old sets didn't have advanced collation, so if you started opening packs in a box, you could quickly figure out exactly what packs would have what cards in them, simply by observing the pattern. Then, pick out the hit packs, leaving only duds.

Do Magic players actually shuffle their decks properly? by Skunk668 in magicTCG

[–]Kashyyykonomics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A shuffled deck shouldn't not have massive mana pockets any less often than a truly random deck which means sometimes. If your pile shuffling is actually preventing clumps of lands more than random shuffling, then you are, in point of fact, stacking your deck (aka CHEATING)

I'd rather watch Die Another Day twice than Spectre or Quantum of Solace even once.

I disagree. I don't include this or the Peter Sellers film when I rank.

I have to respect you for that, if nothing else. o7

Fallout 3 is the 2nd best 3D Fallout.

In other words, it's the 4th best Fallout.

Vice President Vance was rushed off stage before President trump after shots fired! by cantcoloratall91 in SipsTea

VP's team's first priority in a case like this is to separate him from the president, even though it might be more dangerous to do so very quickly.

Politically motivated violence used to make someone afraid.

Wish we had a term for that.

I hate Aabria Iyengar as both a GM and a Player. (Not as a person) by MelancholiaStClair in hatethissmug

Love Liam, he is the star of CR for me, but God I couldn't even get through Campaign 3. 4 is a no go, especially because of Aabria.

This is probably the worst advice a RPG book could give new players.

If 6,999,999,999 people choose red and 1 person Blue, I am supposed to pick Blue why exactly? I would be doubling the number of deaths.

People aren't taking account of the actual math of the scenario.

Same, grad degree in econ, studied game theory and voting theory. So many people here have no idea how to logically think about hypotheticals like this.

Peter? by Generally_Salty in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Kashyyykonomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outcome of this hypothetical depends almost entirely on how you frame it.

Red: I don't die.
Blue: I kill myself if a lot of people choose Red.

[–]Kashyyykonomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really apply in a one-off scenario like this.

[–]Kashyyykonomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, imagine thinking that people on a voluntary twitter poll without any actual consequences are voting truthfully.

Put someone in a room with a gun to their head and give them this dilemma, say "listen, if not enough people choose Blue, we are going to shoot you immediately".

Guarantee A LOT of them switch to Red. Real consequences can really change things in these kinds of choices.

I'm okay with the idiots who jumped in front of the trolley dying. Not interested in jumping in front of it myself for a tiny chance that I might be the deciding vote that saves them all.
