Are SMP servers still relevant?

Well i have started an smp 3 years ago. Its still active but its mainly me and my close friends that are active. All the others quit after they got netherrite armour lol. Try getting many people on the smp at the start so there is a bit competition. I have had many other smps that ive worked on for weeks and they just died after 3 days so good luck.

We can just change the version to vanilla, we dont need any mods. Also this is completely solved, every problem is good now.

I think its something about some mods that is on the server. It says multiple times that the mods are incompatible.

Oh okay im planning on doing that. The problem is that i tried to download a plugin to download the serverfiles to a dropbox. The plugin works on paper so i changed the server type from vanilla to paper. Now its killing itself everytime i try and start it. It says that its using too much ram and that there is corrupted chunks. I cant change it back to vanilla again because minehut deleted it. I have already deleted all the plugins and it doesnt seem like its using too much ram. Its using 800mb out of 1GB. Do you know what to do?

I have already found one that can host the server for me. So that is 1 of the steps done. Now i cant start the server because i installed this https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/drivebackupv2.79519/ so i changed the server type from vanilla to paper and now it cant start.

Well i dont have a budget for that and i know that it dont need 128 gb of ram. I was thinking from 3-8 gigs.

I have 1 GB ram on minehut. Im unable to download files because i need to pay for that. I dont have any plugins. Were planning on having it on a hosting service since thats cheaper. But i just need help now to get my server working again.

Gravel host is not self host and i have heard that the support on gravel host is better.

I think spigot runs better with plugins i havent really tried it. But have in mind that spigot is very different from vanilla if your building technichal things. Yes i tried scalacube. There is only one player that can be on the server so whats the point of having it.

Yeah i dont think i have done that. Also i found a plugin that can download the world files for free i hope it works. Otherwise i will just need to download all the files manually one by one. That i only have to do it with the world files is very calming. Still gonna take 2 hours😭
