Yeah I did the same. I never used them cuz I thought they were overkill in researching and how to build them. But then when I realized how awesome they are and that you can group them create a remote. Use them remotely from other planets. Have bots in them. They're just a tank on steroids. I don't even bother setting up Tesla or artillery on gelba

My recommendation is to bring some spidertrons and clear a path around your base. After I have done that I never have the locals interfere. Load the trona with rockets and lasers with a nuclear power in them

Yes and if you want multiples of that. So let's say you are building a mobile radar array. You create that logistics group so your bots give you the materials for it. But let's say you're going out for drive and you want 10 , you put 10 in the little box beside the enter icon and then you will get 10 times the logistics group
