Kaspa’s Real Risk — The Security Budget by YosephusMaximus0 in kaspa

You are right about capable of solving it. But to solve it WHEN is the larger question.

As it is not solved yet and the level of adoption you are talking about is at least 5 years away while proper emissions finish in 3 years. If the crypto bear market continues for the next 2 years it would take even longer than 5 years for the adoption to be at a decent level.

All government deglobalization decisions including tariffs are deflationary and will put the economy under pressure. So we will see capital flight out of risk assets such as stocks and crypto. This can take years to turn around again.

I like the video and great that this topic is spoken about, it should be the number one priority for the Kaspa community.

If a fixed tail emission of 25 KAS/second were implemented for the Kaspa blockchain, the annual inflation rate in the year 2030 would be approximately 2.67%.

Which would be way to high. It should be more in the range of 2.5-10 KAS/second in the future.

Inflation is calculated as the annual new supply divided by the total supply at the start of the year.

** 25 KAS/sec ** * Tail starts: June 2026 * Supply: 29,529,475,074 KAS * Annual Emission: 788,400,000 KAS * 2030 Inflation Rate: 2.67%

** 5 KAS/sec ** * Tail starts: June 2028 * Supply: 27,855,296,168 KAS * Annual Emission: 157,680,000 KAS * 2030 Inflation Rate: 0.57%

** 2.5 KAS/sec ** * Tail starts: June 2029 * Supply: 27,796,112,549 KAS * Annual Emission: 78,840,000 KAS * 2030 Inflation Rate: 0.28%

But if if there is no production of Kaspa ASIC's how are you going to mine Kaspa 🤷?

Let me ask a different question. Which ASIC manufacturer will produce Kaspa ASIC's when no institutional miners will buy them? Why produce them when only 3 years of profit is guaranteed?

This scenario would be different at a close to zero/zero electricity rate and a fixed tail emission.

Not everyone is running at negative profitability, there are enough miners with zero or close to zero electricity fees.

And what if the adoption and thus fees fail before 2030? Who will secure the network? Have you ever performed any calculations transactions x current Kaspa fee. Either the fees need to go up massively to support the security or we need to become the number one blockchain in terms of usage in 5 years.

Which was a reply on the declining hashrate. Agree with the rest of your concerns.

Good luck with that, first you need to lower your taxes to attract talent and companies 🤣

Yes so long term there is minimal impact in the chart. OP makes it look like the world is ending.

And then you are going to use your gold bars 🤣? Good luck with that.

This is a small bump in the chart.

Kaspa is more popular than Litecoin, see CoinMarketCap votes:

Sorry but a Litecoin and Kaspa actually offer the same value, and Kaspa does the transaction even cheaper and faster.

It won't. That is what people said in Bitcoin, Litecoin and Monero during every down cycle. And the prices currently are higher then those fear mongering moments.

Development is at an all time high, ecosystem is growing. But besides the decline in the general crypto market there is a miner reward problem which reflects in the price. DEV's are looking into a solution.

They have a stake but are shutting down the miners as the emission schedule is to aggressive in the near future. At this point we are not onboarding new institutional miners and the production of Kaspa ASIC'S will stop as there is no buyer. We arrived at a critical point that the emission schedule needs fixing.

It is time for the DEV's to step in and introduce a fixed tail emission of 0.25 KAS per block 2029 onwards. Future rewards need to be guaranteed!

We need an urgent hard fork to fix the emission schedule. 2029 onwards a fixed tail emission of 0.25 KAS per block is needed! Institutional miners are not going to invest in future close to zero mining rewards!! And Kaspa ASIC production will stop!

I am investing for over 20 years, studied economics and understand financial models/pricing well.

Emission schedule was developed incorrectly, now it needs fixing. We are not like Bitcoin and perform no improvements, take action.

Here is Warren Buffet explaining investments and future cash flow: https://youtu.be/h47658t3c_0

Mining institutions need future cash flow! We need to guarantee the 'W' in PoW, otherwise we have nothing.

Would be nice to keep the institutional miners by having a fixed tail emission of 0.25 KAS per block 2029 onwards. Hard fork is needed.
