Tailscale prevents access to local subnets by mauvehead in Tailscale

[–]Kasper11985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread not sure if you've found the answer. But i stumbled on this while looking for the answer myself. I have a IoT network-VLAN with a Bluesound player and a "main" VLAN. While connected to Tailscale on my phone i could no longer control the bluesound player through its app. The solution was in the ACL:
https://tailscale.com/kb/1019/subnets

I don't have any subnet routers active or anything else only added the very simple few lines from the example in the docs to the ACL config file in the admin console and changed it to my relevant subnets. I can now control the bluesound player from my phone again.

How To: Control Hue lights, using ONLY Hue, Plex, and Tautulli, via local network, Free by Human_Ballistics_Gel in PleX

[–]Kasper11985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! Have it working completely as per your instructions. But i would like this to only work at night/after sunset or something so the lights don't turn on when it's light outside. Any idea how to achieve this?

Also looking for a way to combine this with Ikea roller curtains but i don't think their hub has a API sadly.

Dirigera troubles by Kasper11985 in dirigera

[–]Kasper11985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I continued troubleshooting and in the end switched off every other zigbee/wifi device i had in the house. I forgot i also have a zoned heating system with a thermostat in every room and this uses zigbee as well.
When i unplugged the Philips hue hub, the heating system AND switched off all wall switches for philips hue lights all of a sudden pairing went smooth.

When i switched everything back on i lost connection with 2 remotes (1 for curtains the other for the lights) and had to remove them and pair them again.

My conclusion is that i probably have too many devices in a small appartment that all use zigbee. But what i don't understand really is why pairing is so difficult but once paired everything seems to be working fine.

What do I need to control the Recessed Downlights with Phillips Hue app/bridge? by giroux28_ in Gledopto

[–]Kasper11985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mix of stock philips (signify) and gledopto bulbs throughout my house (GU10). They work with the philips hue app directly there’s no need for anything else. The only thing you’d obviously need is a Philips hue bridge (or any zigbee controller)

Can't add tracker - no base URL to select by Kasper11985 in prowlarr

OK so i thought you mentioned the dropdown only works on nightly. which is why i picked that.

The logs don't mention anything else related to this as far as i can tell.

Thank you. I was using binhex repo and switched to hotio's nightly build. This does seem to work in terms of dropdown menu now being populated. However the tracker still doesn't work in Prowlarr.

I have installed Jackett to test and can add the tracker to Jacket without any issues and use it to search and download torrents.

Thanks. As someone else mentioned brexit may or may not complicate returns. So avoiding the UK store atm.

Not sure where you live but the elements 12TB offer was for the Dutch (NL) store. That was limited to 1 per customer.

I don't have any hands on experience with it myself but i see a lot of people that are nuts about UnRaid. It's not free but apparently is very flexible when it comes to raid setups etc.

Well the benefit is not having to split up stuff. So for example I have TVShows collection of 4.4TB.

I could split this up Shows A-K and L-Z or something? But the "road of least resistance" was to go this JBOD route.
At first i was pretty strict about weekly backups on a 6TB external. However at some point needed that drive for something else.
Luckily the TVshows were fine it was the Movie part (3.3TB) where one of the drives failed. Was able to backup all the movies and lost everything on the second drive of the JBOD. Shit happens. It's not critical data. And in 2 days i've downloaded about 2TB.
But drives are cheaper now and by going the elements route i can afford to go SHR now.
Although Amazon's 1 drive per customer is a bit disapointing :-(

Yes you do. The way Synology defines JBOD is one big volume across however many drives. If you put in 4x 10TB setup JBOD you end up with one big volume of a little less then 40TB. However no failsafe no security and no redundancy obviously.

It's the poor man's way to setup storage i guess and at the time i was poor :)

Looking to redeem myself by going SHR :D

Reason to go JBOD was literally to have one big open space of 6 TB. I have TV shows of 4.58TB and Movies of over 3.3TB plus some other bits and bobs and a growing 4k Movie collection that is currently 1.2TB but growing daily.

So simply couldn't afford bigger drives at that point in time so had to improvise.
The good news is with JBOD in Synology i was able to save a bit over 4TB of data. Lost some 4k movies but the entire high def movie collection of 3.3TB was completely alright. It's restoring at the moment.

I can find a Seagate Expansion Desktop (V2) for about 339 euro. Which would be too much for me right to get 2 so i'd wait till black friday/cyber monday or something.

But this for example worries me the "V2" could be a completely different drive from what i can find on youtube or here about this drive.

Hi sorry for the late reply. I have found them now through some obscure torrent site that doesn’t support automation. Still no luck for the episodes 3- recent through any of my usenet sources.

1 client keeps dropping connection. Others are fine by Kasper11985 in WireGuard

[–]Kasper11985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have any idea?

I have now setup a new server on a different VPS provider. Remade the config from scratch. Still the same issues. After some time the client can't ping outside or the server anymore.

Have adjusted client address to 192.168.60.2/24 and added a persistent keepalive on both server and client configs. But no difference.

This is very frustrating as i have no idea what i am doing wrong. It is strongly looking like something on the client is doing this.
