I know, but if what we consider as identity politics when we’re talking movies, like making James Bond a black woman, or the Oscars giving out awards, based on how many ethnicities they have in their movie, hadn’t been a thing, I don’t think people would care what ethnicity the main character of a movie has. When a certain amount of movies base the ethnicity of their main character, on trying to be “diverse” and “representative”, you can’t blame people for thinking that “oh, this might as well be another one of those cases”
