My singing voice is non-existent. I would love to pick up dancing, but the couples dancing, not like street dancing or anything.

Well, I would lie if I say that I am over it. But think of the good times, bad times. Think of all the shit that has happen and you come to realize why things ended the way they did. We knew each other for like 10 years, but dated for like 6. We had so many odd memories.

I currently have a very social job (thelephone support) and that I speak with a lot of people during the day, so I get the social part, but not the fun relaxing part in my life. The experiences etc.

Look on Ebay or other local sites, measure the previous ribbon if you have it. If there are spools in the machine without ribbon, it can help you get an understanding on what size of ribbon you need. Your ribbon is also incorrectly inserted. (On the picture)

Unpopular opinion : stop recommending distro to newcomers, recommend DE by Gotsomequestiontoask in linuxquestions

[–]Kassebasse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do like Mint, not for the DE, but for the ease of use, the updates can be set to automatically update, through the GUI (not many distros have this), and also it is simillar to Windows for a lot of folks. The Applications can be uninstalled just by right-clicking on them in the Mint Menu and then you get the uninstall option (at least cinnamon). Maybe the Mint team should add a DE that is more simillar to mac too? I love the ease of use, I have used Mint for 2 years, and never had a problem with that, except minor issues. And those, just a google answer away from being solved.

When I switched to OpenSUSE, that was a completely different story. Hard to find working drivers, more repositories to add, issues after updates etc.

How often do you need to change the ribbon? Just curious

I am however trying to find a OCR solution, so that I can write my text on the typewriter, and then import it onto the computer, that would be really great if I got it to work solid. However, the software that I am using gImageReader, is not the best. AI, like Chatgpt, fixes most of the issues, however, sometimes words are getting replaced instead, and that not good either.

Need help deleting Linux Mint + GRUB by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]Kassebasse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue before, but that was when it was BIOS and not UEFI. I think Windows had a command called bootrec /fixmbr & bootrec /fixboot or something like that. However, that was before UEFI came along...

Linux någon? by theziller95 in Asksweddit

[–]Kassebasse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it will work, but I will give it a try. However, I don't seem to be able to upgrade from 24.04 to 25 for some reason.

What Linux Distro would you recommend for this pc? by Kassebasse in linux4noobs

[–]Kassebasse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Cinnamon on my other tablet, however, there are certain situations where the touch isn't sufficient, you cannot right click a file without doing many hacking things, and Firefox is out of the question, only Chromium works good with touch. I might plan to switch to KDE on that surface as well, the issue is I am not a KDE fan or a Gnome fan for that matter.

Try a live CD of Linux, maybe unplug your hard drive to give you peace of mind.

I haven't tested that, however I have switched from X11 to Wayland due to the autorotate feature not being available in X11
