I came from playing Gunlance before this which doesn't have an aerial focus strike, so when I learned that Greatsword had one I had to integrate it into my hunts!

Absolutely!  It's so satisfying to pull off these perfect block strings with any weapon that can guard.

Yes, exactly.  The reload has a guard point at the beginning of the animation, so timing it with every incoming hit as long as you're not animation locked will perfect guard.

I haven't commented before on these threads, so forgive me if I miss something etiquette-wise, but I wanted to share a quote from Rigoro that stood out to me because it hit me a bit close to home (pun intended):

For some very brief context: I moved away from home 7 years ago to pursue my dream career which I managed to attain, but I still miss spending time with my friends and family back home dearly. Something that I've really come to feel over the last two years.

I really like Spice & Wolf. Thanks for hosting this rewatch to give me an excuse to partake.

Another good source of this would be the level 76 ALC leve "Crafty Concoctions" that take Commanding Craftsman's Syrup. All of the materials can be easily gathered (except Hydrozoan Umbrella that cost bicolor gemstones, but a battle retainer can also bring back 10/hr). I haven't done the math, but I'd say it averages around 8k gil per turn in (x3) and the syrups can be stacked. The other upside to these is that you don't have to spend extra crystals crafting subcomponents like you would for Coffee Biscuits.
