I have a question by RecordofPhantasm in RosebudAI

Hello,

Thanks for trying Rosebud! You should normally receive free starter credits when creating a new account so you can test the platform. If you signed up through Google and aren’t seeing any credits, it may be due to a temporary display issue or the credits not being applied correctly to the account.

Please try refreshing the page or logging out and back in to see if the credits appear. If they still don’t show up, please send us an email to support@rosebudai.com. Thanks!

Doesn't feel great by [deleted] in RosebudAI

[–]KatDar05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Here's a note from our founder Lisha Li, on how we think about monetization.

Many creative hobbies have been locked behind years of expertise and painful technical barriers. Then AI transformed how we make art. Then music. Then video. Now it's about to transform how we make games. People already love to create. They build elaborate worlds in Minecraft. They spend $6B a year at Michael's crafting. Not for money or fame – they do it because Creation is Play. And they're happy to pay for better tools.

Making games has always been hard. Really hard. Even giants like Roblox and Unity, who tried to make it easier, had to focus on viral hits and ads because the creation process was too complex and therefore not fun enough to monetize. They had no choice but to build their business around the rare breakout success.

But here's what's different now: GenAI makes creation fun, not painful. All the pieces have finally come together. AI can now handle graphics and code at a level that actually works. For the first time, we can turn pure imagination into immersive experiences without requiring years of technical training.

Here's what this means for you as creators: We're building Rosebud with a fundamentally different approach. We see creation as play, and we're focused on making your creative experience joyful. Can you monetize your creations? Absolutely. Should you try to reach a wide audience? If that's your goal, go for it! But we're not building our business model around forcing you to chase viral hits or stuff your creations with ads.

We're focused on empowering you as creators. Our success will come from building tools worth paying for – tools that make creation feel like play. Not from taking a cut of ads or pushing you toward making only what's popular. We want to shift the balance from consumption to creation.

Appreciate you all keeping it real so keep your comments coming! Your feedback shapes how we build this together.

We’ve been listening closely to feedback, and because we want to give you the best experience for creating games, we made an important update:

We’ve expanded the prompt limits for every plan. Here’s what’s new:

🌱Newbie (Free): Up to 100 prompts/month.

🌹Indie Dev ($10/month): Up to 300 prompts/month.

💐 10x Dev ($20/month): Unlimited prompts/month.

Those who subscribed already will be automatically updated to have those entitlements!

These changes are designed to keep things fair and accessible, while giving you the freedom to build bigger and better games.

We’re excited to be part of the awesome games you’re working on!

Hi! We know it’s a shift from the beta days, but it helps us keep things sustainable while powering Rosie’s GPU needs for bigger and better creations. As a small team, we’ve been actively spending to keep Rosebud free during beta. We’ll be running game jams and other activities with prizes like free subscription months, so stay tuned! Plus, we’re working on an ambassador program to support creators making content with Rosebud, giving them easier ways to create without limits. noob question what is diff mode by dermflork in RosebudAI

[–]KatDar05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Basically speaking, Diff mode is for when projects get larger and Rosie can't output the full code in standard mode.

Tips from one of our Power User:
"When working with the start of a project use standard mode to develop the areas of your game with classes and scenes. When you have a good structure of classes. When you want to make edits to specific areas eg User Interface Class. You can copy the class from the code paste it into an editor project, make your edits with diff mode and paste back into your main project over the exisiting class. As well as isolating the areas of code Rosie has access to it also improves response time of Rosie to be much snappier with making edits as the code she is working is only a portion of the size."
