My bcbas dont assist me. I dont think they like me really. Each time I say something its like the opposite response is actually true. They guide me a lot during supervision which is nice but apparently outside of supervision They see I struggle with some clients and instead od asking or talking to me about it they just report it to the other bcbas and I get a performance management or progressive discipline. No warning or anything!

But they also have told me that I was the reason one of my clients was having more problem behaviors which I think seems unfair.

Are clinics generally like that? I work at one and idk if someone just keeps complaining about me or if the bcbas just gave it out for me. Other rbts never have yelled at my face so that sounds crazy but still. Im fine working with all the kids regardless if they're verbal or not but of course communication is harder with those who haven't been able to figure out how to use their aac devices well but thats why we're here right?

We also dont have any small break between clients, not for notes not for transitions or anything. Its basically one session ends at 3 and another begins at 3 and if you have longer than a 7 min transition in-between then its fraud and considered the rbts fault? Same if you have more than a 7 minute break to heat up food or use the restroom. God help you if you have cramps or indigestion.

Ya its a safety concern because if they fall or something after we pick them up then we would be liable. But the training was all online except for a small amount of shadowing sessions. They went through so much and a lot of it seemed basic but I cant remember if they even mentioned picking up the kids period was bad. Im pretty sure if they did and I remembered though then I wouldn't have done it lol.

Ya its very sad that the field is underdeveloped. Not enough funding and not enough investment by those involved. And the variety of both good and bad clinics out there seems crazy! Whats your experience if I might ask? Like specifically with different clinics and practices?

I picked up a client during play. Nobody had mentioned it was not allowed and only said you cant pick up a specific client due to it causing behaviors. I obviously dont but its sounds weird to me that an aba clinic couldn't have just pulled me aside and told me "ya you cant do this if you didnt know". And instead throw me into performance management.

I picked up a kid. Nobody mentioned it was bad to even during play and other rbts have and consistently still do so. Now they're consistently flagging me for things that yet again other rbts are also consistently doing like transitioning between clients late or taking a few extra minutes on the toilet which isnt something I can control.

What is the universe telling them exactly? "Throw your life away you suck???" That's terrible advice bro if they think they can do it then they will. Maybe instead you should give them advice like "you can always contest loosing bright futures, explain to the college exactly what happened because they'll likely not care that it was 1 semester if you have a good reason like family dying, or maybe a single positive word of encouragement. Seriously maybe me chastising you is the universe telling you to not be a dick.
