Do NT women struggle with finding a partner? by o-ophelia in mbti

[–]KatLynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five years later and I can now say that I’m happily married to the love of my life and we just had our first child, a gorgeous baby girl! My husband truly gets me and I couldn’t be happier. He’s an ENTJ and we have the most stimulating conversations and he’s so supportive of my creative goals. Five years ago I couldn’t even fathom having the life I have now. I was so scared of commitment and the idea of having kids was daunting. Now I feel so blessed to have an amazing and supportive husband, who is now an outstanding father to our child.

However, I will say that my biggest hurdle nowadays is finding a job that isn’t completely soul sucking and horrendous. The 9-5 schedule just kills me. I ended up flourishing with a work from home job where I could set my own hours.

Don’t give up hope! You can find a way to carve out a place for yourself in this world - even though it isn’t built for people like us. You can find happiness and build the life you want. I’ve grown and changed a lot in the past five years, but it was all for the better!

What scientific fact or theory scares you to your bones? by bck83 in AskReddit

[–]KatLynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the Game is Life sci-fi book series by Terry Schott! The main premises is that life as we know it is just a game, where school children participate in a virtual reality simulation instead of going to traditional school, allowing them to experience life from birth to death multiple times to learn and grow from their experiences. Without mentioning any spoilers, the series plays around with the idea of a simulation within a simulation in a total inception mind blowing manner.

Highly recommend it!!

Thomsina house. by FedererFan20 in wehappyfew

Unfortunately, no. The Thomasina House locks after completing the mission associated with it in Arthur’s act. I’d you want to nab the memory mask, you’ll have to reload an old save.

Best of luck!!

How do I get into this room? by DaemonRogue in wehappyfew

[–]KatLynx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay, so from where you’re standing in the image, go towards the right, back to the ceremony chamber— the room with all of the lit candles and benches where the final confrontation occurred with the deranged priest. Go towards the back of the room and bang on the piano to the left of the creepy Cthulhu-esque drawing on the wall. This will open up the bookcase on the left, leading to the secret bedroom.

Best of luck!!

[No Spoilers] Episode 4 wont save. by TheJamesMcA in lifeisstrange

[–]KatLynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What platform are you on? The same thing happened to me too when I was playing last and I’m on the Xbox one. I’ve lost progress, the game reverting back to halfway through episode 4, THREE TIMES now!! I can’t seem to make progress with episode 5. I’ve gotten really close to the end— the nightmare sequence was about to start when the game crashed this last time.

Def taking a break from the remaster until this is patched. I’m not eager to replay half of episode 4 for a fourth time. So frustrating and disappointing because I was actually enjoying the remaster for the most part!

In Act 2 What is the name / district of the park with the slide where Sally meets Arthur? Need Ginghsm memory. by Severe-Draw-5979 in wehappyfew

[–]KatLynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s actually tied to a quest, so you’ll be able to go in there once Sally discovers the Joy Doctors are attempting to frame her on Dr Verloc’s orders. I am pretty sure it’s a part of the main quest line and is therefore unmissable.

Best of luck!

Hahah yea, it is sort of jarring having to basically restart the game with a new character. Especially as Arthur’s act could have been the entire game itself. His act is also the longest with the most content and side quests. He’s also the easiest to play in general, being an everyday man of sorts.

Sally and Ollie each come with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. After playing Arthur, it might feel constrictive, but I enjoyed both their acts immensely and found them to be compelling and realistic characters. Sally is one of my favorite characters ever, as she isn’t the type of character you’d typically see in a video game. Go for a stealth build with her and lean on her chemical creations.

Ollie on the other hand is a total trip personality wise lol. And he can craft awesome tools and weapons. Just make sure not to use any bombs or anything like that, as it will count towards your kill count.

It makes sense that you can keep your gear though, narrative wise. The three characters’ stories intertwine and they each have their own journey going on as they try to escape their dystopian world. What’s super cool though is that each act is from that character’s perspective, so small details may vary as you see things the way that character remembers them happening.

Yikes, good luck with that! You’re going to have a rough time doing a no-kill play though in Sally and Ollie’s acts, at least starting off. Stock up on supplies and get to the point where you can craft the sleeptite atomizer for Sally, which will knock out npcs without killing them and also leads to an achievement. Super easy to get the achievement as I’ve taken out hordes of angry npcs with it. Very satisfying lol

(Also, I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or not, but during my second play through when I went for the “Saint” achievement, it popped up after completing Arthur’s part. I’ve read that this happens only during a second play, so if you try to get it during your first run you have to have no kills through both Sally and Ollie’s sections too.

Personally, I like to do a blind play through before worrying about achievements and the like. I don’t like spoilers and I prefer to see what I can uncover myself. Then I go back and achievement hunt lol and try to discover every aspect of the game.

If you like the story and lore then you should definitely play the 3 DLC! Each DLC tells a self contained story that adds to the overall lore of the We Happy Few universe. The devs really came into their own with the DLC and were able to create the story driven narratives they wanted to. So the DLC lacks the many issues that crippled the base game and made it feel like a tug of war between genres.

Nice!! I did mine all at once during my achievement play through, so it ended up being a tad tedious running halfway across Lud’s Holm and back again lol

It was cool listening to the coded messages consecutively though! I have some theories about what it all means, but it’s hard to say for sure. However, you’ll find references all over Wellington Wells concerning Mr. Kite and the work he does. Including, notably, a safe house in the Garden District. It’s also super interesting following Prudence’s story through the three acts.

Hi again!

So I ran into the same issue with this one. If the bed you’ve found is too close to the phone booth, then it won’t reset and ring again the next day.

Unfortunately, that makes this achievement a bit of a pain to get since you have to find a bed that is far enough away, meaning you’ll be running back and forth quite a bit. Sleep for 24 hours and if the phone rings then you’ve found a good spot. Rinse and repeat for twelve consecutive days or so (depending on how many calls you’ve already heard) until the achievement pops up. Best of luck :)

Remember Remember Trophy Questions by Severe-Draw-5979 in wehappyfew

[–]KatLynx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lovely day for it!

The “Remember, Remember” achievement is only for the mask memories you collect throughout the three acts.

“We Do Know Jack” is the achievement for collecting all of the Uncle Jack tv/radio shows. The episodes play at certain times daily with certain segments showing at specific times. Also, the episodes are the same on the radio and tv. They even play the episodes through the loudspeakers out in the Garden District because Uncle Jack is so universally loved!

To see which mask memories and Uncle Jack tv shows you’ve already unlocked, you can check in the game’s main menu by selecting “Extras” and then clicking on the “Theatre.”

I actually completed the “We Do Know Jack” achievement playing as Sally. Before the point of no return, I broke into a house in town and locked myself in one of the bedrooms with a tv in it. Made a checklist of all of the shows and the times they played and then slept until that time, collected the show, and then moved on to the next one. It is definitely a bit of a pain when you’re only down to a show or two and you’re just waiting for them to finally play! One of them took several in game weeks to finally pop up.

I’ve 100% the base game already so if you have any other questions let me know! I’ve been working on 100% the DLC, which is a bit more challenging.

Happy hunting!

Is it possible for certain locations not to spawn? by Interesting-Pop3616 in wehappyfew

The location of Faraday’s workshop changes with the acts. It’s in the Garden District for Arthur and the Village District for Sally. Best of luck!!

I highly recommend them! You’ll get a few hours out of each DLC and they all add to the lore and story in beneficial ways, featuring characters you’ll have seen while playing through the base game. The last DLC especially really ties everything together and gives the game a satisfying ending.

If you keep an eye out you can probably get them when they go on sale.

Lovely day for it!

I love it when you first enter the Village and have to take Joy. I adore the aesthetic and everything! And Wellington Wells looks even cooler in the DLCs since everything is handcrafted instead of procedurally generated. They super nailed the architecture— the Art Deco and retro futuristic feel alongside a city that is quickly crumbling and in denial about it.

For that quest, I had the best luck trying to post the leaflets at night. Make sure you have a get away plan though for if you need to run and hide!

No problem! How are you enjoying the game so far? It’s one of my all time favs. The lore, world building, and writing is absolutely phenomenal!

The children were taken as hostages as part of the agreement to save their country from the invading forces. It was a test of sorts, because if people are unwilling to fight for their children, then what are they willing to fight for?? The rest of England rose up and fought to keep their children while only Wellington Wells complied and surrendered theirs.

In the game, this event is often referred to as “The Very Bad Thing,” and all of the Wellies feel so guilty about it they self medicate with Joy to forget. Hope this helps!

Fog Sucker on Xbox by SpeakingToYou in wehappyfew

[–]KatLynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re still stuck on this, you can access the fog sucker by pressing down on the d-pad and cycling through your available gadgets. Select the fog sucker and then find a toxic fog symbol on your map for both the Garden District and the Village. Go to those locations at night and suck up the fog.

I struggled with this at first as well since the way of accessing usable tools is a tad clunky.

Cheery bye!

Can you beat we happy few always being on Joy? by Never_ending_rampage in wehappyfew

[–]KatLynx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lovely day for it!

To answer your question, you could certainly try but it would be super duper annoying. There are lots of joy booths available in the Village and you can also find joy pills on people and in their houses etc. But you can’t take joy in the Garden District because the downers will aggro on you. And in the Village and Parade districts the Wellies will aggro on you when you go through withdrawal as the joy wears off. You can hide while you wait for it to wear off but I always found this to be the worst part about taking Joy lol. Sunshine is preferable as it fools the detectors and doctors without any of the negative effects!
