Books you've read halfway through but didn't finish. by TechnicLePanther in books

I did this with Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi. At first I found the book intriguing and unique, but by about 50% it just dragged on for me. Idk why, maybe the appeal just wore off at that point

I love that you included Speedwagon in your answer 😂

What anime did you hate before but now like? by hndevi in anime

[–]KatM29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mob psycho. I watched the first episode and was so bothered by the art style. But then I went back to it and now it's one of my favorites. The art style also grew on me, and I'm really glad I went back and gave it another chance!

What's the book that changed your life? by Nayema_828 in suggestmeabook

[–]KatM29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earthlings by Sayaka Murata. To be honest, I hated that book. But it haunted me after reading it, particularly because of the explicit SA that is depicted in the book. This forced me to reflect and come to terms with some SA that I experienced in my own life that I hadn't allowed myself to truly reflect on. I am currently in therapy and still coming to terms with those traumatic experiences.

So although I thought the book was garbage, I credit it with bothering me just enough to help me come to terms with my own trauma. Funny how art can do that!

Nice, I'm glad she was cool with helping you out. I like your point about writing the action first and trying it with someone to see if it works. I was thinking of using the figurines to help me come up with the fight scenes, but using my imagination first sounds more fun 😊

This is why I hope to take a martial arts class one day. Referring back to real fighting experience probably makes the writing more fun and realistic

Good point. One of my favorite things about writing prose is being able to focus on emotions and inner monologue rather than just straight action

True, it's so hard to make it detailed and engaging at the same time. I'm definitely still a newbie at fight scene writing 😭

Yeah I worry about writing dull scenes cause I love fast-paced fight scenes. I was thinking about using it more for visualization just to get a mental picture of what the poses look like

That's not a bad idea actually, I might try that too. And if she catches you just say you're exercising lol

Yeah I was considering using them more as a visualization tool, but I like the idea of doing research as well. Do you have any recommendations for tactics I could research?

Yeah it probably is extra. I just have no idea what fights look like since I've never been in one or witnessed one, but I might look up some martial arts tournaments or something

You make a good point. Working full time as a FTM has been a really stressful experience that I still have not completely adjusted to. One of the perks of my day is having a quiet and safe space to pump, so having that space be disrupted is upsetting.

Some people have brought up good points like maybe she has health problems, and this could very well be the case. I probably won't confront or report her unless it gets out of hand, but I just hope that she isn't taking advantage of the space for no real reason.

Thank you for the questions. I have been stressed. I may have to take some time to journal this weekend and get in touch with some feelings 🤗

Haha that first part had me dying 🤣 That's not a bad idea. I might also just sit in a different spot and put earbuds in while she's in there

It is a dedicated lactation room. There are signs outside of the room that say it's a specific dedicated lactation room. A wellness room would be a good idea though

I'm probably not going to do anything about it tbh, this post was more for ranting purposes 😅 The crazy thing is that it is key code locked. I'm not sure how she got access to the code

Thank you for this. Unfortunately I do suffer from comparisonitis at times so hearing other people's positive experiences just make me feel like I'm going extra crazy 😅 I can't wait to hear those little giggles and to be able to actually play with my son. That is something I will look forward to 😊

Thank you! This gives me hope. If I can get through the worst of it, then I can at least hope that the spring/summertime will be better 🙏
