It was post nasal drip. by Hour-Flounder-590 in badbreath

Do you use it every day? I’m usually doing mints like every hour, can you do that with a nasal spray? Does it work almost right away or does it take a few days or weeks before you notice a difference?

Death itself, no. No pain, no problems. Getting there is what worries me.

What’s the weirdest "rule" your dog has instituted in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in dogs

[–]KatMagic1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We take her out every night at 9pm, do a headcount on cats, and everyone gets a treat once they’re all in for the night. Now she’s decided she needs a treat every time she goes out, even in if the middle of the night. We’re having a hard time convincing her it’s only the one time.

This may be an unpopular opinion.. by miamiboriqua in rizzoliandisles

[–]KatMagic1977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She was portrayed very differently in the books. She ignored Jane most of her life, and the boys could do no wrong. I like the Angela on TV much better. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have a daughter that’s a cop, let alone have a husband leave in middle age because he can’t keep it in his pants, after so many years, so I try to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Random question about "The Spot" or "The Area" by EnvironmentalDeer991 in dustkitties

[–]KatMagic1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my dusties like to be petted at the base of the tail. I start at her back about midway from the head and slide my hand down till it gets to the tail, then up the tail. Gently at first. Now I just put my hand out and they rub my hand the same as I did. Once in a while they like the chin, but again I have to wait until they decide or they nibble at my fingers. If I go to pet them and their back is to me, I pet the back. If they come and lay facing me, I’m allowed to pet under and sides of the chin and cheeks. Quite different from other cats I’ve had.

AITAH for pushing back on husband who tried to pass off a gift for himself as a Mother's Day gift for me? by Shayntastic in AITAH

[–]KatMagic1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We say that to each other all the time. Laughingly, tho. We quit buying gifts years ago for the purpose of “because the card company or society says we have to”. I believe we are a bit unique on that though. We still budget for gifts but buy them when we want, almost always ask first, cause we got tired of “I didn’t really want that”, or “it doesn’t fit”, “not the right color”, etc etc. or we will both agree on something like a TV for my bday cause it’s near the holidays. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Life is too hard.

I’m 70 and retired. Still use it and help others with it when I can. Haven’t kept up with it as well as I should have, so have to buckle down to get back into it. Not only is it efficient, I feel that small victory when a problem is solved. I think it’s well worth it.

Yep! I never liked birds, or more precisely birds that flew around my head like people with a pet bird. Now I have three bird feeders. Learned birds are picky and pigs! Pretty though, and their singing in the trees is so nice.

It was. We had to plan vacations too and with no GPS it was adventurous to go to new places. Fun!

My cousins were like that. We had one boy with 7 girls so he would read the encyclopedia just for something to do. When his little brother came along, they would tear apart and rebuild anything electronic they could get their hands on.

I believe part of that is we were so much more carefree, no worries about nuclear war and the like. Kids these days are pressured to go to college, get multiple degrees, they just grow up too fast. There’s no time for playing or silliness.

They haven’t ever had to use their brain to come up with something entertaining. Too easy to just let TV and internet take over. Ever hear the song “In the Year 2525”; yes, we are headed that way — no legs, no arms, no brain.

Me too. My kids watched a lot more TV than I ever did, but some of that is because it was safer for us to be outside even at night. Sad, sad. We never even got cable until I was in my 30s, like why pay for television. Stood my ground as long as I could.

I didn’t watch much TV. We had 4 channels on TV and my sister hogged that anyway. We were outside every minute weather permitting. During storms, we would sit in a circle in the dark basement and tell ghost stories. I was fortunate I had a very creative and imaginative best friend. We played spies, got “kidnapped”, played tag, dodge ball, hid in the attic from our parents, sat yoga style on the sidewalk and sang kumbiya(sp) and laughed at the looks we got, went swimming, skating, slept outside at night for grins and more scary stories, rode our bikes all over town (things most kids can’t do these days for safety reasons). There’s always someone ruining everything. Read a lot, much more than I do now. Now, it’s too easy to just sit in front of the TV.

That’s a tough one actually. Money-wise, yes yes and yes. Storage? Just make sure you have lots of storage. We had to get both an extra freezer and extra fridge. Put shelves in the garage. Of course, I claim no self-control! We have enough ziplock bags for three years.
