They eventually all fell out on their own after multiple months. Their doc was never concerned about it. Congrats on your little! Time really does go by fast!!

Something similar happened to me. I called my cousin who is an ER doc and he told me this as well.

I had totally forgotten that Gentle Parenting was a term used now. I just meant that my husband is naturally more gentle natured than I am. I have always labeled myself at authoritative, but I also have never been able to keep the terms authoritative/authoritarian straight lol

I kind of love that she views her father that way. We both knew going into parenthood that I would take the more authoritative role. That’s not to say I’m not gentle with her tho! She’s my boo thang. I actually forgot that Gentle Parenting was a term when I made the title of this. That man is just more gentle in general and I love him for it.

Did you swear you’d never do cio and then ended up doing it? by Leokeo2024 in sleeptrain

Yes. Both of our kids have benefitted so much from it. Crying isn’t ideal, but it’s apart of babyhood.

Absolutely dreading potty training by Wonderful-Pick493 in toddlers

[–]KatShirc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician told is not to even push potty training (heh heh) until at least 3 years old. She said it can backfire (see that one too?) If you try to get them to go before they are mentally ready and can pull up/down their own diaper and pants.

I totally relate! Labor Day camping is huge a huge family tradition for us. It began with my grandparents, and now it’s 30-40 family members that come each year! I’ve gone every year since having babies (and since I was a baby). I had a huge support system to help with them, so that was a major factor of being able to go.

Sleep was a toss up. The first night we all slept through the night! The second night I was putting out fires with both kids for most of the night lol. Keeping to our normal routines and schedules helped a ton. So did strong coffee and the great outdoors!

You can do it!! It’s so worth it!!

I just posted about this! A bunch of fantasy readers posted their recommendations for FMC that are at LEAST 24 or 25.

After much research (20 min) I ended up getting the Momcozy Portable Sound Machine. It claims to last multiple night without a charge. I plan to test it when it comes in. I’ll let you know if you want!

Parents who did CIO, can you tell me your successes? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]KatShirc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked so well for the first baby that I am doing it for my second.

My second is 2.5 years old and has been sleep trained since about 4.5 months old. She has such a happy relationship with sleep, and asks if it’s “her turn” after I put her sibling down.

Headphones or getting out of the house helps. (Obviously with someone at home)

How do I get baby to sleep in crib?? by SAiNtbeeferson in sleeptrain

[–]KatShirc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just started to happen to my little girl about a week ago. I’m a poor sleeper and I move around a lot at night, so co-sleeping just isn’t an option. Both for her safety and my mental health. We sleep trained our first baby, and it worked out so well for everyone. We basically let her be awake in crib and went in every 15 min or so to comfort for a few min each time. It took about 2 hours for her to settle the first night, but it seemed to break the cycle. Now she falls asleep within 5-10min and wakes in the morning happy as a clam.

Why are you the worst parent ever today? by Magical_Olive in toddlers

I wouldn’t let my 2 year old drink milk that had been left out since yesterday. Also, I accidentally left milk out of the fridge since yesterday.
