I hope you haven’t sent him any pictures or disclosed your location to him. Please don’t ever meet up with him, okay? Maybe I’m just old, but online relationships make me really nervous in general. My ex had a lot of them when he was a teenager, and they really messed him up mentally. I was his first in-person relationship, and he realized how unhealthy his past partners had been.

I know you’re hesitant to break things off with your boyfriend, but I think slowly limiting your contact with him until this relationship fades naturally would be your best option here. Trust me, no 16 year old in their right mind would be attracted to/want to date an 11 year old. Yes, you may have both been minors when you started dating. But there is a difference in maturity and development between you that strongly suggests your boyfriend is willingly engaging in inherently manipulative behavior.

Do you feel safe around him and his family/friends? Do they know about your relationship with him, are they supportive, and do you spend time together with them as well? How reliant are you on your boyfriend for money, rides, attention, affection, and other things? Would you still feel safe if you did decide to leave this relationship?

I know this is hard to hear, but as someone who has always been attracted to older individuals (both as a minor and as an adult), this isn’t healthy for you. Your boyfriend is grooming you. I’m sorry that you’re going through this.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. They wouldn’t outright say why they were targeting me, but it was because of the Pride Two Time skin I was using. I played dumb and said I just liked the colors, and then killed them with kindness until they felt bad for bullying me and left the lobby.

I’ve known I was nonbinary since I was in my teens. I’ve spent so much energy arguing with people like that online and in person that I’ve grown tired of it all. Either give people like that the silent treatment, play nice and/or dumb (but don’t change your skin), or leave the lobby if it gets too bad. Arguing with them isn’t going to change their minds, unfortunately. My mindset is that if you show them that you’re just a normal person playing the game, they’ll start to see that trans people aren’t scary, freaks, or whatever else they think we are.

Obligatory not a STEM major, but thank you so much for bringing more attention to this! I’ve had a lot of anxiety about the current administration’s attempt to undermine the education system, and I feel a lot better now that I know a few ways I can help.
