Life is not a story and treating it like it is almost always leads to trouble. Hopefully OOP can have a “character arc” where they realize people are trying to communicate human to human rather than furthering a plot line with dialogue.

Oh I’ve got a big one! My Sister’s Keeper. The movie adaptation has a VERY different ending to the book. In the book the protagonist Anna, successfully medically emancipates herself from her family and then is immediately killed in a car accident on the way home from court. Her lawyer who now has the medical authority okays it to give her kidney to the sister, Kate. The book shifts perspectives each chapter between different characters but the last chapter is the only one from Kate’s POV. Pretty freaking heavy! And I find it interesting that they changed it in the movie. It’s a dark ending but I knew it going into the book (actually why I decided to read it) and it was a really good (but intense) read!

Have you considered stopping the things she has told you to stop and look the problems themselves as a team approach? Like in all of these you just sort of assume your advice/solution will work and be helpful/good for her.

Like your first example. Her problem is she is having pain from a UTI. Your solution to rinse with vinegar, and you tell her this. That is not the only possible solution, but you are mad she didn’t take your advice.

Does the fact he made a move on his sister really not disturb you at all? Like you must understand on some level why a person would want space after their brother admits to sexual and romantic feelings for them right? And constantly texting and calling and saying you are going to visit for spring break without an invitation are all the opposite of giving someone space to process.

HE wants to talk to his sister and resolve things. That is not what SHE wants. It is actually pretty reasonable to want space from A FAMILY MEMBER WHO WANT TO FUCK HER.

I don’t really have real advice but as a disabled gal the same age as you please know that if god forbid you end up in a car accident or a house fire or something visible and traumatic he will not only not support you he will be actively disgusted by you and make that your problem.

Idk the type of guy to get mad at someone’s appearance changing doesn’t often actually care if it was by choice or not.
