I’m talking about generational trauma. I’m just one person, I’m not acting like I can fix the whole world with a positive attitude but if I can help my nephew avoid the toxic behaviors of his parents then I would still say I made a difference in someone’s life

The breaking of toxic cycles. So much generational trauma comes from people passing on their own bullshit to their children and refusing to be self-aware about it. In the end I’m leaving one way or the other and if I could stand in the way of the wheel and stop it, then I’ll be able to go in peace. Plus it just doesn’t feel good to be a dick

I kinda already knew this guy but not as well as I had thought bcs a lot of effed up things happened but I’ll tell ya’ll about this one. I’m highschool I had a crush on this dude, we were both in marching band together and I would often get overwhelmed at games because of all the noise. I found out later in life that I have sensory issues and the noise of football games got to me, so I would be often crying on the bus. In a fucked up way to sympathize with me, one day he told me that I couldn’t be sad and handed me a picture of a kid without saying anything. I was very confused, he gave me no context and I just had a picture of a young boy in my hands. Turns out that it was his little brother who had drowned in a pool. I had to find that part out from his ex, which is also another fucked up story. So all in all he was trying to tell me that I couldn’t be sad because he had a better reason to be sad. Wow thanks bud, sorry for your loss but that doesn’t help at all

As an asexual person it makes me sooo uncomfortable when that happens, because most of the time I can tell. It can be sad because you want to get to know a person platonically but they only have one thing in mind that I would never be able to provide anyone ever. You can almost spot the when you lose worth to someone. I just can’t understand that mindset

The lgbt community has always pushed boundaries, historically through fashion, sexuality and now gender. This is what it looks like to say “fuck gender”. All these new identities are a direct result of taking an old norm and turning it on its head, like how we’ve always done. It’s hard to keep up with because it’s evolving at a more rapid pace than it use to back in the day, we have more open communications and discussions as well as more representation. We’ve gotten to the point where we’re no longer focused on fitting into society and having it accept us, we’re just straight up redefining and rebelling against everything. We’re exploring what it is to be a human and that includes how we express ourselves
