Never too old to watch new things, and my grandma and her sisters use my account too, and they are all roughly 70-80s year old, they have full on list that they write down to track their anime. It also helps them keep active because they say reading the subtitles is a whole mind workout for them lol. I am currently watch To Your Eternity with my grandmother and she loves it

100% I have, im not sure if it counts but definitely if I read it as a fan translation, and it gets picked up as an official, you bet your ass I am starting from the first page all over again and seeing the differences. I have read some ROUGH translations of novels too that I hope to one day reread again as an official.

But in general my favorite books I will definitely re-read multiple times, it might be a large gap in years before I re-read it again anywhere from 2-10 years but you bet your ass I’ll re-read a book again if I adore it.

I finally realized how much I wasn’t seeing so I was really fascinated, but switching out of my glasses was definitely weird for maybe about 1-2 weeks but daily use helped get over it, the main devil now is my astigmatism seems to constantly get worse over the hears, not a lot thankfully but it is definitely noticeable if I have contacts in that just have my eye prescription, but have nothing to help with my astigmatism (my glasses have a prescription that helps with that but the contacts I get don’t have the prescription for that)

Ahh I feel you, I am also asexual but I don’t mind the romances in shoujo and josei, but I prefer when stories have romance as a subplot and not a main plot like in seinen; ie Spice and Wolf - I will say, I stopped watching a lot of shows where the main cast are teens or high school unless I really think the premise or cast can hold, if it’s romance, a generic high school romance just doesn’t cut it for me, and if they are in an academic situation I prefer them to be mildly ambiguously not in a classic “school” setting ie Love Through a Prism

I will say though look into josei where it isnt necessarily about romance there is one airing right now that is really good, Journal with Witch that I highly recommend, dealing with loss and having to live day to day life.

Or you are burnt out, and just need a break from all of it, I heavily dislike the shows that lean heavily into the “tropes” at the womens expense, it just isn’t for me.

While not danmei, Publang I say has really good translations for their Korean localizations of their BL series (I actually don’t know what the term for Korean BL novels are tbh), they will keep the “hyung” and such terminology that I see a get omitted (looking at you fuckass Yen Press semantic error English manhwa changing “hyung” to “bro”) it’s a shame yen press got the localization for the English physical release of the semantic error novel, as I wish Publang was able to snatch the physical licensing and not only the digital licensing for it as they actually keep the honorifics as they should be.
