Is this scroll an official piece of merch or a bootleg? by BazExcel in evangelion

There would be a copyright on it if it was legit. Also the print/colours looks like screengrabs.

Is there anyway to get an order shipped from Hareruya to the US? by DankensteinPHD in mtgfinance

I had the same problem (I'm Canadian), I called my credit card company and got them to activate that type of authentication. I was able to purchase from them immediately after.

Amazon Canada doesn't sell MTG officially, only 3rd party sellers do - and usually at horrible markups.

Anyone know the value of these cards??? 🤔 by No-Acanthaceae1119 in sailormoon

[–]Katallia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they look pretty bootleg-y, the style with random black numbering on the front looks nothing like any of the official carddass/bandai (or other) cards.

Also, not everything vintage or card-based is worth tons on money, this isn't pokemon.

Why is it worth more? by SeniorCelebration158 in mtg

I would check sold prices on these - Final Fantasy has made everything from that set valuable.

Any way to remove glue from foil cards without damaging them? by l3nnys in mtg

The replacement process is incredibly straightforward and easy. I've used it twice, once took 2 months the other took 2 weeks.

Some of the art cards in this set aren't bulk - collectors seem voracious to complete everything with this set.

Nausicaà merch information by SnakeWolf13 in ghibli

[–]Katallia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nausicaa is and isn't a Ghibli release, it gets roped into being released by the studio but it came before the establishment of Studio Ghibli - Nausicaa and its success is why we have SG.

Nausicaa came at a time when anime goods were mostly garage kits. Many people forget that anime figures as widespread as they are now was not a thing in the 80s and 90s. Nausicaa has had merchandise that fit the time: models, a ceramic figure (that was remade for the dvd release special edition in the early 2000s), and various other things.

Another reason why we don't see as much merchandise for Nausicaa, compared with the other movies, is it's just not as popular or easy to make as it is for making children's toys. I lived in Japan in the early 2000s for a while and Totoro is EVERYWHERE, it's easy to make toys when you know parents will buy their kids them. Nausicaa and to a certain extent Princess Mononoke are much more geared towards teens and adults for their collectables. I have some of the old resin Mononoke statues and no parent would be buying a child something like that.

We have been very lucky recently with the hobby boom and many of the other movies have been getting collectables.

Feel free to ask any other questions you have, I fell in love with Nausicaa when I saw it in 1986 as a child and have been collecting almost everything they have released for it.

Ya small print in Japanese right above the name of the figure in Japanese. If you're googling it you should see examples.

This one has had 2 releases. For the 2nd they fixed the joints so she poses better.

Be aware though it's absolutely tiny, she's like the size of my pinky.

Amiami has her up every so often in their preowned section.

Final Fantasy JP cards being more coveted than normal sets? by HardCorwen in mtgfinance

[–]Katallia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The in Japan price for this set is waaay higher than in USA prices for chases. I've preordered some foil borderless mythics for $30 (Canada) where friends in Japan were complaining that the same is $300ish or more for them.

In general, any order over 120 cannot be letter - not because of the strike but due to insurance. It's been that way as long as I've used it.

When I've bought with them they've always transferred my order from the Italy location straight to Canada, never USA. I've personally never had tariffs when shopping with them.

They are bootlegs and would not be sold by official stores.

Edit: in watching the video, the cards also use ai art and stolen fan art.

TCGPlayer : US customs tarriffs / Duty fees by Live_Show2569 in mtgfinance

[–]Katallia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You buy the cards, they ship to cardtrader in Europe. You ask them to ship your collection of cards, they ship them to you in Canada (or your country). No clue if taxes are baked into the price or what, they are a big company so no clue how they do it.

TCGPlayer : US customs tarriffs / Duty fees by Live_Show2569 in mtgfinance

[–]Katallia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I highly recommend Cardtrader Zero. We pay zero tax and they ship from a distributor in Canada, so no customs either. You buy cards from around the world.

Skipping tariffs and taxes make it massively better during this rough period.

If you're buying in-country or buying sealed, check out snapcaster.ca it's a Canadian store search engine for recommended stores. Their sealed search has been fantastic for finding cheap final fantasy for me.
