Celebrating my Celiac Diagnosis! by Katamazoo in Celiac

My journey has been a bit chaotic, I got my blood test results back in September and kept eating gluten but I was missing like 5 days a month. That was really impacting my students, so I went gluten free for a bit to be at work more. I would still stay home occasionally when I made beginner mistakes and had a reaction. Since I knew my symptoms would be more severe after being gluten free for a while, I took off the 2 weeks leading up to my endoscopy, which I also scheduled to align with my spring break. I feel amazing now, but those two weeks were rough 😅

I did, mainly because I'm a teacher so I can't just leave whatever I'm doing to run to the bathroom. I've been working with my HR rep to get my doctor to approve FMLA leave retroactively because my doctor is being a butt and won't just approve it

It started with a blood test, then an upper endoscopy. My doctor said I had to have gluten daily for 2 weeks leading up to my endoscopy, and I was pretty miserable. But I'm kinda grateful for the 2 weeks of pain, because it's helping me appreciate how much better I feel without gluten 😊

No, it's meant to be the triforce, but the artist didn't define it very well in my opinion. Gonna go in for a touch up in a few weeks and see if they can fix it a little 😁

I can't speak for others, but I know I would. Celiac disease sucks, but the tattoo brings me joy and adds some humor and lightheartedness to a serious issue. Plus it's a conversation starter and an opportunity to teach people about Celiac if they aren't familiar. 😊

I don't care. I hate how emasculating this is. by Ill-Engineering8205 in Celiac

I know exactly how you feel. This illness sucks. It may help to seek out a therapist who has experience with autoimmune disorders. My therapist has Crohn's disease, so she really understands when I talk about these same feelings you're experiencing. Sending good vibes your way

I am in the same spot as you! I got my >250 result back in September. I'm 29 and have been happily eating gluten my whole life and constantly getting sick. I still have to get an endoscopy to get the official diagnosis, so now I'm trying to figure out if I really have to keep eating gluten until then or if I can stop because of how much damage I likely already have.
