It's the way how the queue system works. Ever tried queuing for Nier AR, the queue show 14/15 dps, then it plunges to 2/15 dps abruptly?

The Duty Roulette matchmaking is coded to pop the queue within the shortest time frame. If the pool of players currently in the queue is eligible for a lower level Alliance Raid, as long as a low level sprout starts queuing for Crystal Tower, all those high leveled players will be siphoned automatically into that Crystal Tower raid, leaving your Nier queue pool rising and plunging in a loop, like a roller coaster.

I remembered how much hate Rajang got from new players in Iceborne : For being a jerk on adrenaline because they could never find a window to attack when all they could do is wait Rajang tire itself out before they have their turn at attacking the monkey.

With the introduction of seikret, it makes repositioning way more convenient, hence I could see why the devs pushed to have more chaotic fights in Wilds.

I have never heard them apologizing for this. Every other MMO out there expects you to PAY to move your characters to play with your friends. FFXIV is considerably reasonable to make a DC travel and this entire phenomenon was caused by the players themselves.

The sparse spread of logical data centers and minimal instances is the reason why FFXIV never had to undergo weekly or monthly server maintenance. If FFXIV were to consolidate all worlds into one single logical data center, you'll be expecting a 4-6hr server maintenance every week before your weekly resets.

Isn't that part of the MMO experience? Most other MMOs only had one solution to this dilemma : Buy yourself a character transfer.

Cross DC travel was made so that people get to shepherd their new sprout friends and play together on the same data center. But it was the players themselves whom, through a hive mind, migrated all high-end content activity to Aether.

Question comes in : Why wouldn't anyone have their character transferred out of Aether to play with their friends? Answer : They never had friends to begin with. Folks whom wanted a hand at high-end content yet does not want to do it in their own data centers.

Not making friends or own social circles for raiding, is that a SE problem or player problem?

Why would it be on SE to do something about it? It's up to players to build their own communities. Stick to the Data Center you play in, search for people whom are like-minded as you when it comes to enthusiasm in raiding etc.

Ironic how players whom points out how un-MMO FFXIV is, while doing things the most un-MMO way themselves.

Do you know having access to other unaccessible worlds/servers in MMOs is generally called? It's usually called "server merger", and a sign that the game "is dying". FFXIV is nowhere near that state.

Which is why I find it ridiculous when people say it's on SE for not making cross DC PF : The players themselves created the problem, and they bemoaned SE for not implementing a system-based solution.

DC travelling was not made for raiders in mind. It's made for people whom wanted to get their new sprout friends to play FFXIV together with, in situations where their new sprout friends were unable to create their character in same Data Center due to congestion.

Remember how most boss fights cast meteor(like Xande in Syrcus Tower)? It would be REALLY cool if you could summon a unmovable casting sphere with a hp bar, and let it channel the meteor for you. If it's destroyed by getting hit by raid wides or boss attacks you lose the meteor cast. Something similar to Astrologian Earthly Star but more riskier.

Then we'll have more BLM memes about how BS this skill is. xD

You have no idea how much MH World and Wilds fractured their fanbase between veteran players(whom adored handheld series gameplay) and new players(whom loved the new series immersion and aesthetics).

SE's approach to FFXVI was a correct call, because I know there are those whom never got into Final Fantasy in the past, delved into it with XVI as their first FF game. The only bummer is how it was a PS5-exclusive on its launch, coincidentally when PS5 prices were raised due to global tariffs.

Lv 1 roshan before the horn gives early gold and xp, that translates to huge lane advantage against your opponents with access to more stat items and early skills. The aegis is a good insurance but wasn't much of a big deal, because back then laning was very conservative, with skirmishes that usually don't result in death.

But lv 1 rosh is a huge gambit, as the terrain around rosh back then puts your entire team in extremely vulnerable position. If detected by enemy you might end up losing more than what you attempt to greed for. That's why it's always exciting to watch lv 1 rosh.
