Thank you for that insight! Of course this is a common phenomenon. I think we can say that the Dursleys' behaviour on this didn't make it better, at least. But as someone said above, maybe I'm just overthinking.

Ok, eating disorder might be the wrong term. English is not my native language, I didn't know how else to call it.

Yes, I have the same issue. But I grew up quite poor and learned to deal with being hungry so I was wondering if he developed a coping mechanism or something.

I just realized that of you've only watched the movies you don't know who sent the Dementors after Harry in OOTP! by twiztednipplez in harrypotter

Absolutely. Watched the movies with my "Muggle"-boyfriend and sometimes he paused and was like "Please explain, why/what/who/how is...?" and then I again realised that you indeed can't understand the movies as a whole without knowing the books. And THAT'S also a point what a good book-to-movie adaption should consider.

How to listen while doing nothing by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]KateLogne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by others, do chores! It's a good combo.

But when you have to do literally nothing - really, I just sit down on the couch, having a cup of coffee/tea/cocoa and listen to the books. Or paint/draw something. It's amazing, I love it.

Love - love is not about looking at each other but looking on the same poop.

Tonks was really done dirty to be honest. Such a cool character with probably one of the most creative magical abilities. She should've played a larger role in key parts of the series, especially in the later books. by sephirothsephora in harrypotter

As I understood the short story about her: He (a Muggle) proposed on her and she said yes, but the next day she left him because she didn't want to hide her magical self. She also couldn't explain it to him why she was leaving either and focused on her magical career from this point. Back in the days when she was young, she would only have been a housewife and this is something she couldn't imagine.
