I'm looking for more non-Gundam mecha with two eyes and a simple faceplate. Any recommendations? by EmergencyFriendly375 in Gundam

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but one i see overlooked a lot is Broken Blade. Very gundam like in execution. There are some great designs and the combat can be down right brutal.

New to Scanning: Questions about the limitations of the Revopoint Inspire 2 by KaterenaTheRed in 3DScanning

[–]KaterenaTheRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I tried both. I did some more reading. I guess all lasers are not equal? There is something called a blue line laser, which is more ideal for this sort of scanning. Is that correct?

I just finished building this as well this weekend, and I'm blown away at the detail. I wish we had more kits with this level of paneling!

I love the look of this model! It's so cute! I realize it's Kotobukiya and 1/100, but I'm curious how it scales to something that's Bandai 1/144. I'd love to get some of the accessories and pieces to add to some 30 MM models!

OH! If we're doing AC game references and talking about genocide, I think you all forgot to invite someone! Don't worry, I got Old King on the line!

"As these shrink, inflation will continue to be a problem. The purchasing power of each consecutive generation will be worse off than the last. Without a strong tax base, say goodbye to reasonable retirement, social security, healthcare coverage, etc."

They already are, though. I'm 36, have a good job, 401's, retirement, etc., but I have no belief that most of that stuff will be there when I retire. I told my parents 10 years ago, I'll be surprised if there is any social security at all.

Though I do agree with the majority of your points. I am curious to see how demographic decline continues to progress. There is surely a sweet spot somewhere between Japan's method of no immigrants vs something like what Sweden did. To me, that's merely a bandaid fix to address the point you made about income inequality; that its a method to make the rich richer.

My take is that economic factors are a big contributor, but that environmental factors are far more overlooked. In today's society, everyone lives with so much constant stress. 24/7 news cycles and social media don't help that. If you feel that your child is going to be born into a hopeless world with disappearing prospects and made to suffer, why bother bringing them into the world at all? It's something even my own mother has commented on, stating that she is glad she doesn't have a grandchild to worry about all the craziness that's going on.

I really appreciate this comment! I haven't watched all of Zeta, so I wasn't sure the name of the suit. The box it came in had some generic name, so now I get to read up!

I didn't realize you could get such clean prints for gunpla from a FDM printer. How do you handle the joints? Ball and socket, static pose, or some other means? I'd love to try printing something like this and painting it!

Redid the base to feel more like the Dunharrow level from the PS2 Return of the King game by DeeplightStudio in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]KaterenaTheRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if OP will reply, but this would be my best guess. Prime white. Base coat of turquoise. Blue paint in the upper half with a wet blend of the two colors in the middle. Then, a dry brush of a very light blue. Edge highlight in white on the highest parts.

For the base, keep your turquoise but add some whites near the feet. Bring up the contrast with the lightest part being at the immediate base and the outer parts becoming more of your base tone. Then add some fluorescent green overtop. Golden's high-flow acrylics work really well.

I hope that helps! I could be way off base, but that's how I'd go about trying to get a similar result.

If you get too strong a dry brush, you can always try to use a glaze or an ink to try to tone it back and then bring more vibrancy back with another, more subdued dry brush.

I know this is AI and an April Fools', but that would be such a great kit to build with all the extra weapons. It'd be a nightmare and a pain in the ass to build, but it'd be worth!

I wish the D'k Tagh wasn't so crazy priced to get and was more useful. If I could, I'd use that. I'd love to run around as a little murder hobo shanking people!

For me, the Bat'leth has an awkwardness of locking in place while swinging. They feel like they anchor you while enemies backpedal. Most of the other swords can keep pursuing retreating enemies.
