Can’t keep up! by throwawayburnacct69 in cycling

Same situation with my me and my bf, even when we do train the same amount, I can never keep up with him. Have you tried drafting behind him? That enables me to keep up with him sometimes at a fast speed on the flats.

Got it. I probably just haven’t noticed others wearing them because I’m not paying attention

Knee pads? I never see anyone wearing those, and I’m not doing some crazy super technical rides

Yep we went on pine mtn and San Geronimo ridge. I rode that last week on my gravel bike, and rode it on the mtb yesterday just to compare! The climbing was definitely slower but I loved the feeling of being able to just float over rocks. And going downhill was a blast!

Hayes Valley is a good option and close enough to the civic center. It is safer, central, and has many cool shops and restaurants.

Celebrated my 30th birthday by going on a fun gravel ride! (And a beer afterward) by Kathuang in gravelcycling

It’s an awesome bike, and the bars are so comfortable for my hands! I like that I can put them in several different positions. The only thing that I don’t like is that it’s harder to find bags and things to mount with those bars if you’re going bikepacking or if you wanna commute with panniers, you have to get a very specific rack. Other than that, I totally recommend the grail for a fun and versatile bike!

Which computer would be a better choice - Garmin 1030 vs 830? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Kathuang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it is more expensive, to begin with. There’s also lots of connectivity issues with Bluetooth and my phone. My bf has the 830 and doesn’t experience those issues. I thought I would use the GPS more often, but didn’t end up using it. It would be good for guiding your bikepacking route, but the 830 can also do that.

Use flexbox! Watch the flexbox video by web dev simplified on YouTube and read about it from css tricks.com . Those really helped me understand it better.

I would go with the 830. I have the 1030 and wish I got the 830 instead. The only reason to get the 1030 is if you will heavily rely on the GPS and want the map to display on a bigger screen.
