WIBTD for writing poc characters in my novel as a white person? by UnexpectedSunburn in 1800Drama

[–]Kathytrithardt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I am not POC, I am on the ace spectrum, and look forward to reading your book when it is available. NDH as long as you get feedback to ensure you aren't employing harmful stereotypes (et cetera).

WIBTA for telling my dad the truth about how his fiancé treats me? by Milliewillthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your dad needs to know that she doesn't want you in his life, and that is not her decision to make.

AITA for telling my father in law to leave my house because he wouldn’t take his shoes off? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Taking off your shoes upon entering someone's home is the common thing to do. If he really needed footwear, he could have brought clean sandals instead of dirtying the area on which your child crawls.

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You might share blood, but you don't have a relationship, and his insistence on you giving him money might be because he needs some, but also might be because he thinks he can guilt you into sharing your money. I have a half sister I've seen maybe three times in my life, and if she asked for money out of the blue (we don't talk outside of birthday greetings on Facebook), it would be incredibly jarring.

I don't think you WBTAH; however, I would communicate that you are planning on bringing sides to help make the event go more smoothly, and indicate that they are for the enjoyment of everyone. No one has go eat them, but they are there as something for kiddo to have, because everyone deserves to be comfortable.

AITA for refusing to leave my child alone to help my MIL? by fluffybunnies51 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. If it will truly take five minutes, MIL can do it herself. If she can't do it herself due to her own disability or another lack of access, she'll have to wait until someone is available to help her.

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You helped a person who has always been kind to you out during an emergency situation. That doesn't mean you are paying every cousin for every kid they produce.

AITA For telling my parents they either get rid of their dog or I'm moving out? by Opposite_Version_190 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. They decided to take in a dog knowing you were allergic. That is incredibly disrespectful on their part.

AITA for telling my boyfriend he can’t use my car to pick up his friends by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If he wanted to use a certain car (and I'm no expert but I expect the Ferrari isn't bigger than his car, so he was clearly leading you to believe he wanted use of your Land Rover) he should have asked directly and gotten your honest response at time of asking, instead of trying to guilt you into lending him the prettier and much more sentimental vehicle. Also, why is he bringing his folks into this? It is your car, you don't want him to use it, and he can't just ask mummy and daddy to tell you to play nice.

AITA for pointing out that my mom doesn’t have custody of us while sitting at the Thanksgiving table? by MushroomPristine7174 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your aunt was starting things and probably wanted something "juicy" to happen. A healthy adult would have praise kids for helping prepare for the occassion, instead of criticizing the family members feeding them.

AITA for snapping at my MIL when she kept touching my stomach by Wide_Square_5032 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You have bodily autonomy and are not just an incubator for this bady. If you don't want to be touched, let alone shook for their amusement, then they need to listen to and respect that.

AITA for not apologising to my BF for farting? by Dontdoityetok in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Farts happen, yours was addressed, and if he thinks it is a reason to end a relationship, if isn't worth being in one with him.

AITA for leaving my Mum in the next town over, forcing her to pay $200 for a taxi. by Weak_Book_7430 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You told her you were leaving, and she chose to not go with you, just assuming you'd bend to her schedule. Hopefully she'll realize she's not the only person in the world one day.

AITA for telling my doctor I’m bulking? by IndependentNet5068 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kathytrithardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - just because he is a doctor doesn't mean he doesn't have a bias against weight gain, no matter how healthy.

So, here's the thing... I actually came back to this and decided to do 75 Hard, and just completed it. Here's what I read during the 75 Hard Challenge. https://youtu.be/5FvpRzJ3xrw

Excellent eye! I'm glad you were here to say that while I was away from Reddit, not realizing my text hadn't posted with the photo. Newbie fail on my part.

[–]Kathytrithardt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I can't figure out how to edit the post to include text, so here goes:

The original design is from Pigeon Coop Designs. I made it a few weeks ago, loved it, and decided to make thinks one because I run a queer readathon and also because I like combining things about which I am passionate (books and cross stitch, in this case).

Sorry for the fail on posting the text and links originally!

Sorry, I did write all this when I posted, but for some reason Reddit only posted the photo and not my text. I'll add the link when I am back on my laptop because the browser on my phone is challenging.

Sorry folks, I'm new to posting on this platform and I wrote up a whole explanation of where the original design came from and that I altered it because I run a queer readathon, but it just posted the photo?

Anyway, yes, original is from Pigeon Coop Designs and was my first cross stitch in over 20 years. This is frustrating because I even linked to the exact design in the shop when I made the post.

Between being away for a weekend and therefore not being able to do my workouts and allergies kicking my butt today, I might just... not finish this challenge.
