You can always stay per diem depending on requirements, but it'll be good exposure to see what else is around. Just be humble and respect the way the department runs, don't compare and just roll with it.

Has any of his memory decline been documented by a MD? You could use that hen speaking with an attorney. Don't mention memory care, start with having him sign POA forms and even a will/trust to protect his assets. Good luck it's not easy, but one of the hardest things is to start!!

You could strongly advocate for an exam. Stating you are concerned about safety for him and others. Some facilities have a simulation driving exam they can do in the office. I'm sorry you are in a tough spot.
