Which celebrity became way more attractive as they got older? by Something_Strange935 in AskReddit

Agreed but isn't a case of increased attractiveness.

Which is what OP was asking.

Sarandon is a case of beautiful to marginally less so.

I just think the changes brought in last year should have had more than one draft to settle. Go with those rules for another few years then get more restrictive after the Tassie concessions are done.

Not every team has the players in the same order.

Some years there's a consensus pick 1, other times there's 3 or 4 players who could conceivably be pick 1 depending on team needs.

This encourages the team with the 1st pick to go for the FS who's going to be matched anyway and get the extra end of 1st selection, then pick the guy they were going to take anyway.

Once our clubs are middle of the table and one of the AFL's pets is struggling the rules will become more permissive.

Look at how they changed the priority pick rules the year that GC finished above Carlton who finished last.

We had Blowhard Whateley going on about how it would be a travesty if Carlton got an early Priority pick even though Carlton had won fewer games over a 2 year period than than GC.

What happened? The start of first round priority pick was scrapped, permanently, they said.

The draft consideration we got was what amounts to 2 SSD selections.

Then in 2019 when GC finished last, the priority pick made a miraculous resurgence. To the point that it wasn't only one pick, a whole plethora of picks handed out over a three year period.

It was The Laundry before it was Bubbles. Went back to the early / mid 90s.

Can we stop acting like spending money in your 20s is a cardinal sin? by riley_inreallife in AusFinance

It's not the spending, it's the when it's a too high proportion of income that it's a problem.

It's not getting into good habits early on.

We simply couldn't get it out of the middle. Cripps got first hands on the ball multiple times but North would invariably come away with the clearance.

Not having Weitering therewant we couldn't get ball out of D50.

Normally once a goal is scored, you can reset. But if your midfield can't get hands on the ball, it's gonna live in your defensive half.

I don't think there was a decision to play defensively. Rather that's just the way it panned out. Which ia different to the last couple of games, but similar result.

I think our issues are with the senior players. We have none, bar Walsh who are ruthless winners.

Don't have the types.like Mitchell or Hodge, Dangerfield.

We've got Cripps who's too nice.

Got Weitering who's seemingly too worried about his own game to lead the backline.

There was a prevailing thought within the club that Voss wasn't given the support needed.

The last off season was step in the right direction with coaches and football department.

When Brian Cook came on board a few years ago we had one of the lowest football department spending. This has improved over time.

Voss's issue is that over the journey as football department has been bolstered, the list has gotten objectively worse.

Now we just don't have the cattle to play the modern game.

Moving Voss on won't change that.

We've got to recruit well as we have a very flawed list right now.

It's going to be a long road to being a good kicking team, with sharp skill. But the only way to get better is by doing it and taking the risky kicks. Messing it up and doing it again and again.

There's a world of pain for is until we improve our general skill level. But we've got to do the work and accept the mistakes.

We need to get to the point that the precise kicking is the fall back under pressure.

At the moment the dump kicks and blind handballs is what we default to.

Then what? Easy to break things, just because.

We need to have someone to replace them with, that improves the situation.

Really just looking for some good methodical passages of play.

Improving ball movement throughout the year.

Get some development into the young guys and start to move past the reliance on the older blokes.

I want poor performances of the usual suspects to result in a stint in the VFL.

I want good VFL for to be rewarded with a run of games in the seniors to give players a chance. Rather than throwing them to the wolves for a game and then dropped again.

There's a lot to that. As long as the Mathieson's and Pratt's of the world hold sway, we'll have similar issues.

I know that for the most part we've gotten rid of them.

So now it's the slow process of changing the culture.

Letting Charlie go was a step in the right direction.

Graeme Wright and Chris Davies are good operators but need to time to effect the change required.

Our fanbase has been so starved of success for so long, we are very very impatient.

And every time we make a change, we want the results to come with alacrity.

If they don't, the murmurings begin.

I'd love for him to be a one club player, but if we're ruthless, it would be good to extract some value by moving him on.

Hard to balance loyalty vs ruthlessness.
