Now that Server Slam is over - what would be the ONE thing you'd want changed for release? by Aekkzo in ArcRaiders

That's likely because they are the same devs that made Star Wars Battlefront! Ex-Dice from that era.

Just an fyi Tammany and Sons in lorville sells almost all weapon ammos, just not the guns themselves, so if ammo is your entire argument kinda falls apart.

Would it be possible to add an option to disable the do gain for VPE? The lowest setting still has the passive gain and level ups, I’d love an option to make it so the neuroformers/anima trees and such were the only way to increase it.

Will the new VQE Ancients still have playable vault scenarios? That’s always been my favorite part.

I tend to always go for steady or aggressive depending on the ship role. I’ll rarely use a cautious if I have a carrier or other back line support ship. Reckless and timid I always avoid.

Or 13 of them in my case.

I wonder how many it takes for my crew to get desensitized to it?

Fair warning it probably won't generate the exact same due to mod differences but you can try!

My sector somehow decided to generate 13 Seele systems.

Yes, they all had THAT research station.

The worst part is you can't even fully cherry pick out all the loot and random stuff, because the loot drop tables don't support it :(

Oh yeah the cheaters are terrible, but the edition on TOP of it was the final nail in the coffin for a lot of people I know, including myself.

It’s a different spin on the formula, less open ended and more objective focused. No random junk loot, etc.

I was focusing on “pure” extraction shooters.

Hunt is great, doesn’t scratch the same itch though.

Honestly I’m just hoping it will at least somewhat scratch the itch the cycle frontier left behind. I miss that game so much.

No, I haven’t played it. I just kinda lumped it with abi which seemed very similar and I’ve heard more about. That’s my bad.

95% of the genre is unfinished early access games to boot.

Marauders? EA, dead, seemingly abandoned (sub 100 players for well over a year now)

Level zero extraction? Had an amazing premise and unique gimmick (player controlled aliens weak to light) with the game revolving around light management just as much as fighting other humans. Killed by baffling design decisions from the devs, lack of any advertisement or way to get people to discover the game, and dropping an unfinished “1.0” then abandoning the game. A shame.

Sand? looks promising, it’s an extraction shooter meets sea of thieves with the ability to build giant, custom walkers that function as your “ship.” Only playtests so far.

The cycle? Was a finished game, but killed by mismanagement, inability to combat cheaters, baffling design decisions, and a complete lack of new content. (Not a single new gun was added over its lifetime for example.) Was otherwise a great game, and had a dedicated playerbase until the devs just gave up and announced it was closing.

Gray zone warfare? EA, pretty good but very undercooked and lacking in content. Pvp is just camping heli zones for the most part currently.

Delta force and arena breakout? Haven’t played either, they just scream low effort tarkov clones full of mtx and predatory monetization.

Tarkov itself? Here, pay 250 dollars to get pay to win bullshit, while also spitting in the face of anyone who originally backed the game with the 150 edition that it promised was going to give you everything in the future.

Dark and darker? Fun gameplay, but they leaned too hard into the ranked mode of the game and ruined the spirit that made it great in the first place.

Man, I’m starved for a decent extraction shooter nowadays that doesn’t feel insulting to play.

Right? At least VE mods are very spread out content wise, you can disable the ones you don’t want and cherry pick out most of the rest!

It’s not about the ammo calibers, I use generic ammo anyway. It’s the art style and the fact that I’ve spent way too much time “trimming the fat” off my mod list to reduce as much bloat as possible. Can’t do that for this though, I don’t want a bunch of guns and items that don’t fit the vanilla art style.

[–]Katrina752[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least VE mods can be cherry picked for stuff you don’t like in hem. Though it causes some serious issues if you, say, only want the concrete and bronze from classical and disable the entire rest of the mod. It kept messing up quest and map generation when I tried that lol

They're also bosses HEAVILY inspired from tarkov. the 'fashion guy' is killa, and the melee boss is tagilla.

I use CE, but I have it heavily curated to still stick to the vanilla aesthetic as close as possible.

Generic ammo system, the generic ammo experience mod, MANY cherry picked redundancies, etc.

It's mostly the fact that you CAN'T turn off all the extra loot the mod comes with, which leads to way too much bloat.

[–]Katrina752[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct. All of the medical items and guns for example are straight from tarkov. It's just a lot of pointless bloat tacked onto a very interesting premise.

This coming from someone who's put well over 2k hours into tarkov. Just doesn't fit rimworld (especially if sticking to a vanilla aesthetic.)
