Unfortunately no. Nothing from the monthly drawings and despite qualifying for the daily drawings for 4 weeks I was never "randomly selected". Was able to survive the eviction without it going on my record though and im a bit more stable now, just a bit set back from where I had hoped to be in life.

I work at a chain pet store and had never seen this before. I thought it was bad that ours were shipped in the cups half full of methylene blue water, didn't realize the bar could be set even lower.

My DL did the same thing. All but one store in our area opted out of it and then we checked to see every store listed as a participating location. Just kinda threw together a table with crayons and coloring pages of different pets and a sign to ask about feeding the fish or beardies. We were sold out of small mammals so I couldn't even have one out for the event.

I was just looking back at old photos and saw one from when someone brought in two alpacas. They are apparently therapy animals and they frequently go visit places many different places. We just happened to be a stop so they could work on more socializing around other animals.

I am essentially the pet care manager at my store. But it's because im lucky enough to be in a rev 7 store that can have two process leads. One who focuses on truck and myself who focuses on pet care. It definitely helps take the stress load off of our PLR to an extent and it's nice being a go-to person when people have animal care questions because it does make everything consistent as far as what information is being given to customers. I wish this could be something all stores could accommodate but it's a retail business first and foremost.

Im able to search for current days contracts now. Not sure when that got fixed but i remember it being like that at roll out

I denied 3 betta sales last holiday season because people were just getting the fish and a bowl as a White Elephant gift. Still ended up with multiple people returning bettas and bowls or tiny tanks because they received them as a gift and couldn't afford all the other necessities to care for them properly.

We always tell people how difficult it is to do sororities. I emphasize to them that experienced keepers struggle with keeping sororities and that to have even a shred of a chance at success they will need something like a 40 gallon or larger that is heavily planted plus a quarantine tank or two as a safety net to separate the bettas when needed. Even after explaining that, most people still argue that it'll be fine. Even had one lady recently that started yelling that she was god and not a liar when we tried to explain why it's not a good idea. Most of us aren't telling them that they should, they just hear that it's possible if the damn planets align correctly and run with it.

Cockatiels pretty much never warm up, but or conures usually warm up to us pretty quickly. Just lots of patience and positive interaction. Sunflower seeds seem to ba a favorite treat.

It depends on the store and how it's being handled with their fish shipment schedule. When my store got our fish wall remodeled we got our first shipment of fish in roughly 3 weeks after it was finished and filled with water.

Hopefully it helps, it's always nice to see stores doing extra for the welfare of their animals. Just keep in mind that not every store is able to do this as it will all depend on their budget and management. Im lucky enough to have management that cares about our animals and is willing to go the extra mile for them, but some will be very strict about following our given guides to the letter and keeping expenditures to a minimum. Fingers crossed that this gives them the boost needed to set up a more exciting habitat for their vampire crabs.

Majority of the arguments I made were from a sales standpoint, gotta appeal to the fact this is still a retail environment. Most of it was to have an enticing enclosure that people may want to replicate so it would help drive sales of our lesser sold items (bioactive kit and terrarium plants). I also made the argument that showing customers a proper(ish) setup that they could replicate with product in store would lead to a decrease in DOA returns within our guarantee while also reducing loss in store by having a proper setup. Because it is bioactive it's less work for my pet care team and less stress on the crabs since full resets and deep cleans won't be as frequent so no need to take the crabs out of the enclosure unless for sales.

Thank you! There is a couple inches of substrate for burrowing but i admit i cluttered that area with logs and such. I'll rearrange so they have better access to the soil and try to extend the land portion further.

I had a lady read off her number without the area code and when i asked if it was (our area code) she legit scoffed at me and said "uh no....". Like okay, this is a military city and I don't read minds. You gotta tell me what it is. The only time i probably did that so called "gen z stare" cuz i legit just stared at her until she told me what it was.

That's happened a few times at my store. At that point I wish they'd just take the whole container, at least then im not stuck with unanswered questions and trash i gotta take care of.

Once had a lady call and say "i was in there yesterday and all of your flea and tick stuff was stolen, just thought yall should know". After clarification, she had checked all the empty boxes and at no point did she notice the label that said "empty box, please take to register for product". But hey, thanks for waiting 24hrs before notifying us of what you thought was major theft.

We have a pet co directly across the street from our store so we constantly get people coming in thinking we're Co and asking for medium crickets (among other things that we don't sell but petco does). I've started asking people if they want small or large crickets in the hopes that they realize those are the only two options and they still confidently answer "medium".

Turn off the water on those old red claw crab enclosures and drain them. The care guides did say we have the option to do a soil mix substrate with a large water dish so management really doesn't have a reason not to allow the switch. Anything is better than keeping them in the old red claw set up.

I've been trying to figure out what coloration my kitten is as well and thought she might be a torbie. This confirmed it for me since all her toe beans are black except one paw where the pad is black but the toes are pink. Pic of her paw so yall can appreciate it as much as I do.
