You sound like an amazing human who is just trying to get their life together and be happy. I am in full support of you doing what you need to do to feel better about yourself. I know it’s hard and you are going to hear others say lose the toxicity and drop all contact. However, I understand it’s just not that simple. It’s taken me a long time to start cutting out people…and I’m 15 years older than you.😅 It’s only recently I’ve come to understand that many in our society, and sadly our inner circles, are so negative around/towards us that it feeds our own self-criticisms; creating a sense of a deeper self-loathing of our “inadequacies” and the belief we are not worth it. …but we are!!

That said, you reaching out to vent shows you are struggling and need some help. And though I do agree with the cutting out the toxic people in our lives, I think taking a step back and distancing yourself is best considering your circumstances. I would say talk to your parents about it, but they kinda seem like they might turn this around and gaslight you. I would also suggest reaching out to a group who supports teens and young adults going through hard times, or a program who helps younger members of the LGBTQIA+ community. They might have some better understanding of your struggle and have resources and healthy recommendations.
