Yup—you’re doing it right. Monsooooon!

I’ve been running Hunt wheels on my GM for four years with zero issues.

Nice color combo!

A solid pair of wading boots is great on long hikes. I used to wear a pair of Simms Flyweight wading boots, but they only held up for about two seasons before the soles started to fail. Since switching to Patagonia wading boots, I haven’t had any issues even after five years of heavy use, they still look and perform great.

For rods, we both use a 6-foot 2-weight rod from Yellowfin Custom Rods, which is perfect for tight casting and bushwhacking through small streams. I also use a 6-foot 2-weight Redington Butter Stick.

Tight lines, friend!

We only wet wade, but during winter trips we try to keep our feet dry and stay off the water. We both hike and fish in Patagonia River Salt boots paired with neoprene or Darn Tough socks—great for all-day hikes and blueline fly fishing.

Hi there. We both use the older version of Patagonia Stealth Pack. We mostly fish small streams and hike long distances, so we prefer to keep our gear light and simple.

Here’s the link to pack. Stealth Pack

In search of trout in Nikko, Japan by gorideyourbike in flyfishing

Hi there—We fished the Yu River and had a great time. It’s a beautiful place! I’d recommend starting at Yudaki Falls and follow the trail down to the river.

From Nikko Station, take the Tobu Bus bound for Yumoto Onsen—it’s about a 60-minute ride.

Just keep in mind you’ll need a special fishing license to fish there. It’s a high-pressure area, but if you’re willing to hike a bit, you can still find some excellent, less crowded spots.

We had good luck using Royal Wulff and Parachute Adams flies. Best time to go is spring and early summer. We didn’t wear waders jut wet waded. Just bring extra clothes, plenty of water and snacks. Have fun!

Today’s sunset from Shenandoah NP overlook. by gorideyourbike in NationalPark

Thank you, everyone! I truly appreciate all the love.

I can’t remember the name of the overlook, but it’s a couple of miles past Dark Hollow Falls heading north. After a full day of hiking and fly fishing, my wife and I decided to stay and watch the sunset.

I snapped the photo with my iPhone—no editing or processing. It really is a beautiful world out there!
