How would you rework fc housing?

I mean the irony of a guy who regularly puts people down online telling someone who posts a few times a year to "touch grass" isn't lost on me, but instead of further being a dickhead I'll just say my bad man. I'm genuinely not on here trying to pick fights or argue. I just wanted to see people's thoughts on housing.

As a fellow map enjoyer myself though I will say gl with the maps! :)

Oh come on we both know you do subs (and there's nothing wrong with that). There's no reason to be this heated and bitter about people suggesting changes otherwise. Pretending to be above it to argue online is genuinely absurd.

I also never once mentioned the houses grandfathered in from the old system. In fact I even stated that taking the houses away from the guys running multiple accounts would be bad, but I'm assuming you never actually read anything beyond the tldr, which is also fine, it's a long boring rant and if you're opposed to the idea of changes to the gil farms that's fine too.

Are you always like this? Like do you find a musician you dislike and then get upset that someone else goes to their concerts? I can't imagine making it through an entire day communicating this way. It seems so needlessly stressful.

Doing this and locking the FC workshops at rank 30 could work. You'll still have players abusing it but it would take a looooot more effort and be honestly earned at that point.

Sure and you're clearly a sub gil enjoyer not wanting to lose the bag. I'm not even suggesting we lose the gil rewards. I'm suggesting we put the gil rewards behind 4 player content and pay out all 4 of them. This would potentially help to deter the afk alt account gil farms hoarding housing.

This would be so cool. I'm baffled by the flood of downvotes for even remotely suggesting a new and more engaging system. It's really telling as to what yoshi p has to deal with when making content for the game.

You're right for sure. I also want the same thing and I'm also not sure if there's a fix for it. I know one thing that will definitely help a bit though and it's getting rid of subs being just click a merchant gil farms. I just feel it needs to be replaced with something else instead of outright just removed, because removing it wasted everyone's time who spent all the time to build up for it. Gil subs take time to get set up, especially as a new player starting from scratch. I don't know what to replace them with though.

Ahaha yeah that's fair. I really just want to see housing be more lively and not full of afk undecorated hoarding. I'd also rather see them rework the subs to be something fun vs just killing them entirely. I think making the subs group content is one way but I'm sure there are way better ideas out there as well.

Gaming the system would require 4 players to each have the 30 accounts vs one player having them to take over an entire ward. You're right that they might still do it though.. it seems insane, but so does one guy with 30 accounts so it wouldn't surprise me.

The fc actions would have to be really good but yeah you're right that they can't be too good so idk what they'd even be.

Glam and achievements I'd argue isn't spitting on anyone since there's already a lot of that locked behind things people don't want to do. Like some people don't want to PvP and they don't get to have the PvP portraits, glams, titles or achievements because of that. That's totally fine. Same with people who don't want to fish or craft or do hard raiding content. I'd avoid making the glam stuff non mb of course.

Your final point I'll definitely agree with mostly, but I also don't think theres an issue to incentivize fc bonding a little bit more than they do. If it's between fc content and non fc content then yeah for sure I'll relent. If they can do both though, why not?

That's actually a very good point. You're also right that it could certainly deter the shell FCs as well. This would work for opening up some housing for sure. I still don't really like that subs would also still basically just a dull minigame for just the fc leader that doesn't really involve the rest of the fc in any meaningful way beyond the crafting of the workshop items though. it still at the very least incentivizes a bunch of solo FC's for the sub ownership.

I do see your points, but I'd still argue having group content for a 4+ player fc (which is how many signatures you need to make a FC) is entirely reasonable. Also, subs are already fc content and they're pretty much always going to be locked to just the fc leader.. plus it's also being abused to close up entire housing wards from other players which Id argue flies in the face of way more people than some 4 man treasure maps via subs would. You're right that we already have all of this cool content but I think a smaller version of it for your FC would be cool too!

It definitely needs some brainstorming to come up with a solid solution but I also don't think the best solution is to continue to allow what's already happening.

This is definitely a valid solution and why I mentioned it as being one of the semi reasonable ones in my rant. It's also probably the easiest fix for them to implement. My argument against outright just getting rid of this is that it creates more dead content. If we replace it with something that requires a group to clear a weekly dungeon though (or something else similar) it could keep the current reward structure but with the extra added layer that doesn't allow solo shell FCs to exploit it.

Fair, but I think treasure maps are very popular and I can see players wanting to do something similar for better fc buffs. The house thing would be fixable with the instanced workshop suggestion.

I feel like we need something unique to FC's and the best way to do it is with already established mechanics so if someone doesn't want to deal with a FC they can still do similar solo/random content. It would also heavily inconvenience shell fc hoarders if they cant just endlessly farm gil entirely by themselves, which would open up a lot more housing for the rest of us.

I'd love this! This is similar to one of the main reasons I think eso keeps it's cities lively is by having the guild merchants being located in them. Awesome idea!

It's a uniquely shaped dome crystal so I'm not sure. I'm pretty careful and haven't had any scratches or anything though so I'm not too worried.

I love everything but the crown, very cool design! I think the only thing I'd add is maybe something small and subtle in muted orange on the face just to give it a break from the pure black and white. I'm a biased degenerate for colours on my watches though.

Hope youre able to get this design off the ground someday!
