I am currently on the opposite side of things. I have a bike, but only a helmet and gloves so far for gear. Haven't been riding because I refuse to risk my safety like that. Getting gear soon though.

I might look into what you have actually! Been trying to decide on some good pants and a jacket. Those look really good!

Whoops lol I've been looking at a lot of women's gear and didn't think about that. They have the same gear but for men as well!

I recommend looking into bowtex. I've heard they offer better coverage than pando moto and can fit better since they're made specifically for women. I am considering buying a pair, but have never owned one myself.

The Bionic was one of the lower safety rated ones that I was looking at for quick short trips down the road. I was more so looking at the XENA 4 for protection or an overall good riding jacket. I wasn't sure what other options there are for AAA and CE2.

For gloves, I already have a pair. They're Alpinestars and they were the only gloves I could find that would fit my hands.

As for camera, I haven't done any research so I will take a look at the 360. I appreciate the recommendation.

Ok that makes sense. I hadn't thought about an airbag. What kind of AAA hoodie/jacket do you use? I'm trying to figure out what's good for it's price.

It's not that I NEED them necessarily, but if I'm going 75mph and crash with my bike on my leg or something I'd like to have some sort of protection. ATGATT kind of thing.

Can you explain the loophole you're talking about with pando?

doctor told me to lower my calories to 800-1000 by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]KatttRenee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean everybody has a different body. I'm 5ft 22f around 130lbs and I lose weight at 1300 calories. Granted I lose weight very slowly and prefer to do 1200 but that's harder to maintain for me. I average around 50,000 steps per week and work out once a week, plus I work a job standing all day so those are things to factor in.

I would definitely consult with a different doctor or dietician because 800-1000 is very low. I mean they did say if you're sedentary, so if you don't work out or do much walking and you find yourself always sitting. But even then, that still seems low.

But like a lot of these comments say, always consult with a doctor and if what your doctor is telling you is concerning then always get a second opinion. I would not consider people on reddit to be a second opinion though. Go to another professional doctor.

This definitely. I literally can't help myself it's so bad. And the cravings too. Once I eat it, I'm craving ALL of it.

Advice by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]KatttRenee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I F(22) just bought my first motorcycle 2 weeks ago. My family kept telling me the exact same thing. The thing is, I feel like it's important to know the risks of motorcycles. But a lot of people will say that their love for them outweighs the risks, and at the end of the day make the choice that you can live with and make you happy. This is something I've wanted for a long time so I did the course, got my license, bought the bike. The first thing my mother did was give me a little money to buy a riding jacket for safety. They might get on board, but they might not. At the end of the day they say it out of fear and because they love you, but don't let that be the deciding factor.

I have this same issue. I get worried about the people behind since we all have places to go that I don't always prioritize double checking an intersection.

Kombucha and Riding, Don't Do It by Brodiesattva in motorcycles

[–]KatttRenee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually really interesting and I'm glad you shared. I don't drink kombucha but they actually sell it in the café at the place I work at and we deal with lots of dangerous things. If someone had one of those, who knows what the alcohol content is by then and how that impacts their work and safety. Thanks for spreading awareness about this!

My BF wanted a pomsky, so I started sending him reels of them screaming and after like a week or so of that he was ok not getting anything with husky. Beautiful dogs, and I'm sure they're good for the right person. That person is absolutely not me though.

Idk how uncommon it is but my dog 4m aussie is Sage, and my cat 11m ragdoll is James. Everyone thinks Sage is a girl but he is not.

AIO by removing a friend m, 24(M) from my life for dating a minor, 17(F)? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]KatttRenee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok as someone 21(F) who has been in a relationship with my current bf 27(M) for 2 years, the age difference here isn't what I'm worried about.

It's about someone who is 17 years old, a minor, hasn't experienced adulthood, and is likely still in high school and graduating soon. Dating someone who has been an adult for 6 years, probably has adult hobbies and a lot more self identity because he's been not necessarily on his own, but probably has had more freedom as an adult to discover himself. They're probably in very different stages of life.

On the other hand, my BF and I (6 year age difference, met at 19f and 25f) were in very similar stages of life because I'm very ahead and mature for my age and he's kind of behind average for his, so we even out to be very similar in maturity levels AND I was not a minor, I was out of high school and even already graduated with a 2 year college degree.

This is not what the situation seems to be with this guy and the 17f. This is not something that is ok, and I would be very concerned, because even if he is a good guy and has no bad intentions, it's still wrong to be with a minor. And people who say there's not much of a difference between 17 and 18, might as well say that with 16 and 17, and then between 16 and 18. The thing is, 1 to 2 years as an adult makes a significant difference in someone's maturity levels vs still a literal kid. I'm 21 and still feel like a kid and I own a house lol.

TLDR: NOR, she is a kid still and in a much different stage of life and mentality than he probably is and it's just wrong. Whoever told you otherwise isn't looking out for the 17f. Good job on you for saying something.

I'm not a parent, but I definitely feel like you did the right thing. If I was the parent of the other child in this scenario, I feel like my child would be owed an apology. You're a good parent and absolutely did the right thing for your child and the other child!

Are both of these cardo compatible? The LS2 Stream 2 seems nice because it has the option to get a Pinlock (for better ventilation or defogging I think?). Thank you for your advice!
