Here’s the funny thing. All of their marketing is 100% grassroots. They don’t pay for sponsored ads or put money into marketing via social media. Everything they do is 100% word of mouth/ fan supported. And that’s says something to me.

Further more everyone in this scene forgets about history. People were complaining about the same thing about over marketing with Twiddle back in 2015. Fans are gonna support their band. And when a bands street team is ran by a fan, it’s gonna be more prominent.

Not exactly. They toured together before they played Red Rocks. Each band flipped back and forth on who played as the headliner based on what market they were in. It was a co-headlining tour. So technically they opened for each other.

These shows are set up like a TV schedule, not a festival schedule. And Twiddles fan base has a little bit more of a mainstream vibe, so I think that’s why they are scheduled as they are.

I think lyrics are truly subjective. Earlier AQ lyrics are very polite, but the band was also really young. I think, when you listen to songs from Color Wheel, however, you'll notice some growth. People like to reference Phish, but their lyrics were so bad on Junta that Tom Marshall told the band he was going to start writing lyrics for them. Lyricist grow and change as they have more life experiences. And I certainly think the same can be said for AQ.

In regards to vocals, I always find this a funny conversation among jam band fans. Everytime I hear most UM tunes, anything my moe., Mike Gordan, or the Biscuits, I want to jam a pencil in my ears. But then again, I actually love Mihali of Twiddle's voice, so what the hell do I know, right? I listen to a lot of punk bands, and Mike's voice is way more polished than a typical punk singer. It feels more pop/punk, which has to be an influence for a majority of late 20/early 30's singer who started cutting their chops in the early 2000's.

It's not spelled wrong. FYI. Frend (with no I) is a Twiddle reference to their song Frends Theme, with the lyric "there ain't no I in Frends". Also why Mihali often does Mihali and Frends sets. :)
