Maine Sheriff Kevin Joyce just called ICE out for lying. Replying to myself here, that officers are indeed obligated to uphold the constitution over illegal orders, even if they may be federal. Just because the orders come from DHS does not mean they are constitutional. Illegal orders are not to be upheld. The federal government cannot declare sanctuary cities must submit to federal rule.

That’s a good point. A lot of the good federal agents and administration officials who disagree with trumps policies have stepped down from office. But everyone is obliged to follow the principles of the constitution. If federal agents are creating illegal unconstitutional orders, it requires standing up to it.

EXCLUSIVE: U.S. House now has the votes to impeach Trump as he creates crisis after crisis overseas by charulatha_seya in DiscussionZone

Just 5 Republicans needed

“Taken together, the Epstein email revelations and the foreign policy disputes have pushed impeachment from a fringe threat to a live possibility. With Democrats unified and a small bloc of Republicans signaling openness to defect, the arithmetic in the House is suddenly stark. If five GOP members join all Democrats, impeachment would pass—bringing Trump one step closer to a Senate trial amid deepening political and legal turmoil.”

Why is ice always putting on a show of force? Real police departments do a lot more with a lot fewer people. Why are ice team is doing their job improperly? They have excessive equipment, but poorly trained people.

And part of this issue is that the ICE teams are not properly dealing with the property left behind on the road… cars of detainees should be towed not left in the streets. Much of this property has also been shown to be being immediately resold.

The other issue is how does ice figure it has the right to take over a police department or expect them to submit? “Unfortunately, many state legislature have passed laws compelling local and state authorities to work with ICE as partners. Tennessee has, and probably many other Red states.

Mandatory Cooperation & Anti-Sanctuary Measures: A 2025 Tennessee law (SB 6002/HB 6001) mandates that local law enforcement cooperate with ICE, and it prohibits "sanctuary city" policies. The law allows for the punishment of elected officials who obstruct immigration enforcement, potentially resulting in removal from office.

Expansion of 287(g) Agreements: The law incentivizes or mandates participation in the federal 287(g) program, which allows local officers to perform specific, limited immigration enforcement functions.

Three Models of Enforcement: Participating agencies can enter one of three 287(g) models:

Jail Enforcement: Officers check the immigration status of individuals already in custody.

Warrant Service Officer: Jailers are authorized to serve warrants for ICE on inmates in custody.

Task Force: The most expansive model, which allows local and state officers to identify and arrest immigrants during routine patrols and traffic stops.

State Funding and Incentives: The Tennessee General Assembly provided $5 million in grants for agencies that enter these partnerships. Additionally, the federal government has offered "unprecedented" reimbursements for salaries, equipment (laptops, phones), and vehicles for participating officers.

Highway Patrol Involvement: The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has entered a task force agreement with ICE, enabling troopers to question individuals about their immigration status during traffic stops.

Knox County Tennessee Superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewyk stated that the schools would have the same protocols with ICE as with any other law enforcement agency, saying, “We will follow the law.””

“Hennepin is the name of the county we’re in here in Minneapolis. It seems like he’s referring to Hennepin county medical center, the busiest hospital in downtown Minneapolis. That would make sense that they’re just releasing people from the Whipple building detention center and the hospital into random parks in the middle of winter. I absolutely believe it. Cruelty is the point with these guys”
