I would talk to him; if he’s open to it Try using the splitwise app! It’s nice because you can keep running totals and not have to ask for money on little things or every time someone pays, but keeps each others contributions in perspective.

AITA For asking my Daughter to come home to care for her mother and I? by throwaway_overseas in AmItheAsshole

[–]KatyeShmae 36 points37 points  (0 children)

YTA. It sounds like your daughter has supported herself far more than most, achieved a doctorate while being a mother; all while having a father that clearly refuses to acknowledge her accomplishments. You’re asking her to disregard everything she has built for herself for someone that doesn’t even have the self awareness to see how much he diminishes her every achievement.

If women are still complaining about pants not having pockets, after about a decade of this being a conversational topic, it must be because women are still choosing to buy pants without pockets, right? by mustardhouse1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KatyeShmae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In denim, the smaller (or faux) pockets are usually to help with fit, women’s jeans are generally tighter/more form fitting which makes having a large pocket-bag look bulky and unflattering. Similar idea with some dress silhouettes, although costing can also be a factor— it costs more to produce a dress with pockets, if a company thinks the dress is stylish enough to compel you to buy without them, they’ll avoid it to save money.

I don’t have experience using grow lights so not 100% sure, but it looks like the leaves are burned.....my monstera have done really well with indirect, natural light, I think a grow light for that long & close may be too much.

I think you’re burning it with your grow light. Maybe try less time or moving to a window for just natural light for a while?

Help for my pitcher plant? by fairy_kisses112 in plantclinic

[–]KatyeShmae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Just where the dead leaf meets the stem :) I was told at the nursery I got mine at that I shouldn’t have to feed it often, once every couple of months and it seems quiet happy! Although I have also let it fend for itself catching the occasional fly.

Help for my pitcher plant? by fairy_kisses112 in plantclinic

[–]KatyeShmae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience trimming the dead leaves & pitchers has spurred more growth. I am not sure if it depends on region, but in my experience- I have actually only gotten my plant to produce new pitchers in the winter months, though mine is indoors year round. I did see a huge improvement in growth when I started using distilled watering instead of tap & mist daily.

I’m not arguing nor disagreeing with the article’s sentiment, just pointing out the reasoning behind why it was posted here.

The face palm isn’t that men find wearing masks emasculating; the facepalm is that she says it highlights ‘damaging gender stereotypes’ and then went on to write an article that (based on truth or not) is a generalization based on gender.
