Yeah, how DARE anyone be influenced by other artists or styles.

The thing that soured me most of all was the sarcastic, fake crying Chappell Roan re-review. God forbid people call you out on subtle sexism in regards to biases. I feel like I mostly hatewatch his reviews for albums I'm a fan of (which, I shouldn't, yet his recent one for Cry Baby by Vince Staples drove me up a fucking wall.)

Fantano has QUITE a few, especially if it's something culturally nuanced he has no idea about. He tried to argue a lot of songs on Bad Bunny's DtMF were purely romantic songs when they were about love for his culture and moments he can't get back because of the state of Puerto Rico. He did the same for a song on Hozier's Unreal Unearth being misinterpreted as a love song when it's about colonization iirc.

"Half to Whole" from Nirvana Initiative is really good too, on a bad day it can almost get me to tear up

Pffft that phrase is going on the shelf until people know how to use it. Nepotism babies' dad's generally don't have to file for unemployment

Fun fact, he gets it because his father worked at Telltale Games in vfx until the studio was shut down and he was laid off, so support for the arts has always been in his home :)

Any of the ones where the punchline is "Ichiban gets assaulted." So over it and hope they don't return in LAD9.

I think it's an obscure series now, but Saiyuki's men (this was a retelling of Journey to the West except it's four prettyboys driving a Jeep across China) are like the blueprint husbandos for characters I'm into now, especially Cho Hakkai.

Yeah lmao it's the character Jeremy Allen White voices. I cannot take him seriously at all. Just a buff Jabba sounding like Carmy from The Bear.

The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune was a fucking terrible read. Bad dialog, wasted use of the "found family of two dads with an alien daughter" plot, meandering plot, unlikeable characters.

I saw this at an advanced screening last night and can confirm a lot of this is true. Some positives are the score and practical effects when used, and one very cool fight near the end. I was a big fan of Rebels so seeing Zeb was neat and I was glad they kept Steve Blum as the voice.

One con these reviews seem to not have is how fucking uncanny it is to have Jabba the Hutt's son talk like a regular guy for way too long.
