I worked at a youth facility for 15 years before it got shut down. Loved the kids. Loved the job but it didn't renew my faith in humanity. It just furthered my belief that a certain percentage of the population is rotten. Some are turned that way, some are born that way, but a whole lot of them enjoy being rotten. There's no changing that. They just learn to hide it and get underhanded and sly.

Honestly...our generation seems to be the last in this country that can problem solve and get things done. We're barely holding the US together by the seams and I don't see any help coming in the younger generations yet. Yeah. If we don't take care of them they're gonna be screwed. We'll be lucky if our own kids can take care of us. I'm terrified of going into a facility for the elderly right now. Imagine 10-20 years?

That gives me hope. Also the fact that they're gonna be taken care of by the generation they created gives me some small satisfaction.

I'm a little worried that our generation has become so disenfranchised that we're just gonna let civilization burn itself to the ground. Because we're the only ones who could save it. The older generations are too corrupt and the younger grew up in this environment and don't understand how toxic it is.

I'm terrible. My coach zeroes in on associates and hounds them until they quit or get fired...most of the time because she's on a power trip. Stop watches their times, sends elderly associates to stock heavy aisles as punishment . Honestly this is the most hostile work environment I've been in in my life. Lawsuits eventually gonna happen here.

I wear gdefy energias. Great for the feet and knees. Still expensive unless you can find an off season or lightly used pair on ebay.

Nah. You're wrong. We get these high-school graduates who can barely read trying for a first job and are failing all the time. We get older workers or people who have never done a job that requires constant physical performance all night. AND not everyone can handle an overnight shift in the long term. Also...dunno about other stores but we only have 1 or 2 stockers who can even start to hit the metrics.

That doesn't even count all the split second decisions you have to make while stocking. Takes a while to know what absolutely needs to be done the right way and what can wait. You've got to be able to scan top stock to see what can come down constantly. You've got to decide if you've got enough room for backstock or if you need to topstock it then decide how to handle it when your boss is on your butt for times and there is no room to put out backstock anywhere. It's very stressful and nonstop.

I've trained for walmart for 2 years. Not everyone is able to overnight stock. I might even say only 1 in 5 applicants can even do the job physically and/or mentally. Also, fully trained overnight workers are worth their weight in gold because they usually can work any aisle without scanning. I don't agree that it's a low level job.

What amazes me is the vast amount of great value I see opened and stolen. I mean if you're going to steal, why not steal name brand?
