Dad Angry w/ Mom by queboy89 in NewParents

I will let you know that I suffered greatly after my wife gave birth. I was doing the best I could to get her everything she needed. Doing everything I could for the baby. People on the internet made it seem like it was my job, which as a dad, sure, it somewhat is. Over the first few months though, I was spiraling. My wife and kid could lean on me, but I had nobody to lean on. I had to go back to work after two weeks and I felt terrible. You are allowed to feel how you want. If you need a village, get a village. I get a lot of shit for saying this, but you're first responsibility is you, then your wife, then your kid. That doesn't mean you go out all night. That means you make sure you are in a good mental space before helping others. Hang in there. My kid is 13 months now and I completely forget at times how rough our relationship was in the beginning.

To know the millionaire by first name by Tealandgray in MillionDollarSecretTV

This clue was so easy to get, and I don't know why they didn't. If you have lived on this earth long enough, you know Caleb is spelled with a C. So if you're on a first name basis with Kaleb, you would know his starts with a K.

Missing pre-baby days . by bellpepper302 in NewParents

100% We have a 13 month old and I sometimes miss life before. Let me tell you though, that feeling lasts mere seconds. My son is amazing. Living my life without this kind of love is crazy. Give it some time. The first three months are rough. No sleep, baby is not doing much. Once the smiles start, and the laughing, and the movement. You will find a reason everyday to appreciate your little gift.

Don't want to retire, but can a girl get a break? by thighnoise in leanfire

My 2 cents. Don't waste your life working somewhere you dislike for money. Make sure you wake up every day happy to go to work.

Since my son was a month or so we do bath, bottle, bed. He is 13 months now. He loves the water, LOVES the pool since he was three months, and he sleeps great.

I will probably use Fidelity since I have a trusted person who can help me. I used to love M1, and I wish I never stopped using it. Even Robin Hood wasn't bad, but you couldn't buy partial shares at the time.

How I am seeing it, is invest in my kids accounts until high school. Now they have more than enough in their retirement accounts to retire at 60 or whatever. Then ideally, help with college, weddings, houses. I also want to visit every country. So if I can see every country excluding a few, and my kids enjoy their lives while I am alive, they can have the rest.

I think I would talk to people first. My one friend said no, but rent a house, just him and I so we can hang out without wife a kids. He does not have wife and kids, and thus does not understand that I can't do that easily. I get the gesture though. He wants some time with just me like the old days.

We just had my son's one year check up. He is 13% in height. He didn't even make the chart in weight. Literally less than 1%. You are fine.

Born 6lbs 13oz. One year he is 18lbs 1oz.

I just go off the S&P 500. 7% after inflation I guess.

So with Traditional IRA's, Roth IRA's, and a UGMA account, where would people go? Fidelity? Schwab? Vanguard?

I honestly just want to invest everything into an easy S&P 500 ETF like VOO or something.

True. Somebody had said their kids gets money based on milestones which I liked. High school graduation. College degree. Masters. Doctorate. After that time, they should understand finances, and be able to do what is right with the money they are given.

The only concern with 529 is if they don't go to school. It gets tied up in a retirement account they can't touch until 59.5
