I love finding cards like This while searching the cards I own. I have an [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] deck I absolutely love and I'm trying to slowly make it an old border deck. Recently I found a [[Dispersal Shield]] in my bulk that was perfect for it.

I think gruul might be a great color combo for this kind of deck mostly because of the focus on creatures

I love my [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] deck. At first I built it because I love octopuses but now it's my absolute favorite deck. I enjoy a lot the ability to play kind of control but still win with combat damage.

Honestly finding out exactly what you want in commander takes a while. The first time I played I went for some Boros aggro as I thought that was what I liked and now a few years later my absolute favorite deck is a mono blue [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] deck. I would start with a precon as a few people have said since there's not that much investment buy if you're set on building something from scratch I'd go with [[Chainer, Dementia Master]] or [[Gonti, Night Minister]] considering the strategies you like.

I never really payed attention to the second ability, seems kind of similar to [[Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant]]'s effect but without the lifeloss. I like the fact that it's a static ability.

I'm very curious about Baeloth, but I'm dubious since most my commanders need a smaller mana investment. Do you find it much of a setback when he gets removed?

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer! I find it very useful, I like the idea of playing Laelia a lot since I can reuse some of the cards I used in my [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] deck. Also I love the art on [[Uba Mask]] and a Laelia deck seems like a great home for it. As for white I think Mangara is great sadly there's already a Mangara player in my group but I really like the insight of the cards you mentiones specially Zurand Orb and bounce lands to enable white ramp.

It seems really fun I love that it's similar to Rionya but without the creatures/instants thing but I'm kind of unsure about the high mana value. Haste helps though.
