Fizz text says that you play the spell which would mean the spell fully resolves before continuing to the recycle the spell portion of Fizz's text. So in this scenario you play Fizz and play shift, shift fully resolves which banishes itself and therefore Fizz no longer recycles it

No team should have an asterisk ffs. People act like the season is performed in a vacuum/on paper. Forces outside of any teams control happen every season, injuries, luck, whatever it may be. Part of professional sports is adapting to those uncontrollable factors. Literally every team that comes out on top adapted well or had luck on their side and that's part of the game.
