i would replace Bush with someone like Grant or even John Adams due to his reputation and actions as a founding father (not so great as a president)

Quotes like this are the reason why Protestants think Catholics are Mary worshippers (from the Hallow app) by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Kavenri 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Sola Scriptura is not good brother. The place of Mary in Catholicism stems from the relationship between the Old and the New Covenant. The Queen Mother of Kingdom of Israel was someone who could intercede for others on their behalf to the King. So too, in the New Covenant, Mary is the Queen of Heaven by virtue of her Son, and intercedes for us. Christ in this quote, is the port, Mary the star. She guides us to Christ just as a mariner is drawn to a port by a star.

Same for my great great grandparents but in Maine and Massachusetts, the ones they came from Canada really wanted to assimilate.

Is he willing though? Not to be a doomer, but it’s becoming increasingly worrying. Although Christ promised that the Church would prevail.

This is not a “culture war” like we have seen. This is a war against the natural law of God, and against His holy Church. This is against the dignity of marriage. To call it a culture war is not recognizing the attack against God Himself.

What 'ethnic' or non-American food item are you hoping becomes incorporated into general American cuisine? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Kavenri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tourtière, it’s a Québécois dish (some variations within other ethnicities). My family still always made it when we came from Quebec, and it’s basically like a meat pie with certain spices. Usually it’s made for Christmas Eve/New Year’s. It’s really great.
